Actor Richard Chamberlain who had starring roles in the medical drama Dr Kildare along with other series such as The Thorn Birds and Shogun has died at the age of 90.

His portrayal of Dr Kildare made him very popular with the ladies in the 1960's

He was charismatic and knew of him in the Thorn birds
