David "Syd" Lawrence MBE former Gloucestershire and England bowler has died aged 61, he was diagnosed with MND last year.Another sad loss to this horrendous disease.RIP.

So sad, just a really great bloke 61 years is way too short but Sid packed a lot in. I was privileged to see him bowl live & he was quick & hostile, a giant of a man & strong. It came as no surprise that he turned to completive bodybuilding after his career was cut short after sustaining a fractured kneecap in a Test Match against New Zealand, he played 5 Test & just one ODI. He briefly attempted a comeback with Gloucestershire some 5 years later.
As well becoming a nightclub owner, he was a strong supporter of the community in & around Bristol & maintained his connection with his county fulfilling various roles including president.
Famous for becoming the first British born black cricketer to represent England he became a leading advocate for diversity & inclusion in cricket.
