Yes, same here. I wasn't a fan of him or his party but the way he recovered from the Brighton bomb was remarkable. He was also from an era when politicians at least seemed to have a bit more gravitas and conviction.

I'm sure people have many names for him but you can't deny he was a survivor. Not only did he escape from the rubble of the Brighton Bomb, he also survived ejecting from a Gloster Meteor when he was in the RAF, a plane that allegedly killed over 430 of those who flew in it
