capping webstreams ?
hey guys,
been a lurker for a long time, just thought about trying to cap a show or two (from webstreams only, i don't even have a tv anymore)
now i appear to have run into a slight hitch.
i was testing eariler using orbit grab++ or something like that (with the sassytv stream)
all with the same .flv extension
now it failed the first time, file unreadable, i thought this could be due to over 200mb file size
2nd time, let it run for a shorter time, works fine, and 3rd,4th and 5th. (all upto about 100mb)
6th time (ran it same length as 2 3 4 & 5) fail again
checked the files in mediacoder, the working ones obviously contain the correct information, the failures just say its an flv container, no other information. and fail on attempted transpose saying "no output..blah"
anyways, i guess what i really want is a suggestion for software that is more reliable than orbit, but still free, as i'm broke
if you can't tell, im new to this whole thing, hell i only found out a few months back you could rip youtube videos
also, many thanks to all who keep this community going, and all girls involved in the shows
cheers all
p.s. if i've been blind and missed a thread that holds this information, feel free to slap me sensible
