Fury V Usyk 1 - Who wins?

This Saturday in Riyadh sees the long awaited re - match between Tyson Fury & Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury is vowing to send Usyk into retirement but I wouldn't be surprised if ends up being the other way around.

I think a Fury win probably is more keenly anticipated by Eddie Hearn more than anything as I think he is keen to see the Fury - Joshua match up finally happen that Britain has longed to see, and that in itself, probably would most likely be the final time that we would see either of them in a boxing ring.

But Who wins on Saturday?

It's an interesting concept apparently being brought in with an AI judge scoringthr fight on Saturday night.

I will agree it it an almost impoosible job to be a judge but I think after what happend last time I can only think you have to try something different to bring an unbiased judge and whether this is the best wau we will have to see.

I wentbfor Fury by points in the end because i Feeel Fury probably knows where he made mistajes and has probably worked out what he didn't do last time and is going to put it right this time.

As long as it's not Fury

Usky won by Unamious on all three scorecardds and remains undisputed and Undefeated. I certainly would question the scorecards however. I felt was a round or two closer than it was.

In terms of where Usyk is he probably is just outside the top 10 all time great heavyweights for me, but he would be probably would be well inside the top 10 all time greats if he was to retire undefeated, He certainly probably has only Parker & maybe Dubois left as serious challengers. I seriously doubt there is any real need for a third Fury - Usyk fight. I think Usyk's resume probably only has Wilder's name missing on it. (and is missing on AJ's as well).

As for Fury I wonder just how much influence he can have at world level after that. It is going to be a long road ahead to even get AJ & Fury in the same ring, even if it doesen't have any real world title connectiond for both, & His Excellency is going to have to do some serious head knocking to ensure both Hearn & Warren get agreeement. It probably is the last real big fight left for either & I would hope Hearn & Warren will realise it pretty quickly

The "AI" Judge had it 118-112 for Usyk
I had it a bit closer, so we shall see if the "AI" Judge becomes a thing. I've seen some pretty bad scorecards over the years, that wasn't the worst I've seen, so there may be a future for "AI" Judges.
I thought the announcers summed it up well. Fury looked good in spurts. Hard to beat a relentless boxer like Usyk fighting in spurts.
Usyk is a machine in the ring. Doesn't take rounds off, always boxing.
Don't know if the extra weight did Fury in, but Usyk the second half of the fight boxed really really well.

I thought it was closer too. I felt the extra weight maybe was a telling factor for Fury, but it is hard to see there if there is any real appetite for Usyk Fury 3.

I thought the scoring was fair, Usyk made Fury work non stop and constantly landed the cleaner work, in particular body shots and straight lefts. Fury needed to be told the truth, that he was behind by his corner so that he could’ve tried to go all in for a knock down.

Frank Warren has always been a joke!

There was a robbery on the cards at heavyweight but it was Fisher getting the decision over Allan!

There can't be that many seriously good fights left for Usyk
