Australia are now in the same boat as England, fighting for a place in the semis, after a loss to Afghanistan. Zadran & Gurbaz recorded their 3rd century opening stand of the tournament. A massive win beating a major cricketing nation. Their bowling looks strong, with the only concern being middle order runs.

England through to the semi finals after a dominant 10 wicket victory over USA in Barbados.

I had miscalculated the scenarios in order for England to qualify, I hadn't factored in the either or situation regarding the South Africa v West Indies match. The interest on that match will now hinge on if West Indies can beat South Africa, but not increase their net run rate above England, this would ensure England could avoid India if they top their table as expected. A South Africa win will more than likely see England face India.

Great to see local boy Jordan finish the USA innings with a hattrick. The bowling of Rashid was just too good for USA, backed up well by Livingstone. Buttler just took down the USA bowlers with 83 from 38 balls which included 6 fours & 7 sixes, 5 of which came in the 9th over bowled by Harmeet Singh.

Some real do or die matches left in the super eights stage now.
Pressure is on.

What a huge game.

I think England have now found their most balanced team in the one that played against USA and if possible I would stick with it.
The bowling variety is optimum.
The batting order runs deep enough.

And their fielding in the tournament has generally been very good which is so important. Taking catches, forcing run outs and excellent ground fielding could make a big difference in the semi final and a possible final.
