We've always done well in shooting in recent games but I would say for the most part, without the Russians there, it's more lkely it's the Americans who we have to probably beat.

Got a question for you Snooks , since you know a lot about the Olympics.

How comes some sports begin before the opening ceremony , i thought the opening ceremony was supposed to be before all the events begin.

^Simple answer. Timescales.

They can't fit all the preliminary rounds in within the 2 week period the games take place.

I doubt we will ever see in our lifetime a more bite sized olympics. Though I have to sayI did encounter oposts on my time line on FB about why should football not be part of the Games. I don't think football became part of the Olympica until either after the war or in the 60's.

I do think there are also thoughts on what sports shouldn't be in the Olympics, but I think there are sports that have been 'demostrated' in the programme and are never used again, I think it gives spectactors the chance to watch something different and IOC too.I'd love to see MMA put in the Olympics but I know it won'rt happen simply because of what fighters can earn.I often wonder if a team medal is worth more than an individual one and if Olympc medals are or have ever been sold at auction. I've never heard of any ever being auctioned.
