all too familiar from this England side and now wondering what are the excuses McCullum & Trescothick going to trot out once it's finished and dusted. IMO, McCullum should be locking the dressing room door after the presentations, and giving them the Fergie degree - in other words; - a right bollocking and put a stop to the carefree golf and beach days and get them in the nets working their socks off for the next few days even if he has to ban Christmas to get it, and ring some changes in the right places.

One thing is for sure - someone somewhere is going to have to have to carry the can for this whole shit show from start to finish.

For me Duckett Pope Smith have been terrible this series so far and Harry Brook has been poor considering the starts he has made.

Pope I Do have a bit of sympathy for as three isn't his natural position and he cant be easy when there's always someone talking about replacing him.
Duckett has just been dog shit with the Bat and in the field at times.
Smith well its just a series to big for him at this time of his career there were signs of it in my opinion in the 5th test in that chase against india let's be honest hes contributed nothing this series.
I would go as far as critizing Joe Root a bit also that magnificent Hundred aside hes not done enough.
Also Zak crawley hit a fifty...so that means we're stuck with him for the next 20 tests like it or not lol.

All in All this series was a fantastic Opportunity lost with Australia having not there strongest 11 at the Start and the First two Toss Won.
Just Frustrated.

I saw Zak Crawley's post about saying it would be a good series if England were to win the last two Tests and get it back to 3 - 2. It might be a good confidence booster if they did, but at the same time I would say well what about the performances in the first two Test when you could either been drawing 1-1 or we could have been 2-0 up instead?

I would agree. The opportunity to prove they were one of our strongest sides to tour Down Under and add in the fact that this Australian side wasn't their best for some time, was an opportunity that England should have grasped at the first opportunity - and didn't.
They were capable of batting right through the order and with that the morale would have been strong and send a message back to the Australia "we're better than you" but the way we batted at times in the first two Tests was simply out of sheer stupidity and chucking away wickets needlessly.

I have seen some comments attached to Zak Crawley' s comments saying that even the Australian women's cricket team would have sliced through them. I don't know if that is harsh or true.

This team should done a whole heap better, but I'm wondering what the backlash will be like next summer around the Test grounds and whether it is going to be a hard task winning back fans after this.

I remember back in the day when it rained, that often the pitch was left uncovered. I can't remember if Captains then were allowed back then to request that pitch should be left un - covered or not.

I do often remember the comment if there were ducks on the outfield that "England were out for two ducks!"
