Talksport reporting that Julen Lopetegui has been sacked by West Ham, and Graham Potter is being lined up to replace him. If confirmed I would be delighted to see Graham Potter as West Ham manager. He may have bit off more than he can chew with Chelsea, but he did wonders with Brighton and he's British.

I don't think Lopetegui has been that bad as West Ham manager, we've had some good performances under him and got some good results. But whenever we've come up against one of the top teams we've been hammered. Hopefully Potter can do something about that if he comes in.

^ My understanding is that Potter has been interviewed by West Ham.
With a view that he's going to take over when from Lopetegui when he gets fired tomorrow.

But if Potter and West Ham don't come to an agreement, then Everton are next in line to offer him a job.

When I look at the current PL table I would say for even to Southanmpton to escape would dwarf what even Luton Town performed - it would be the greatest of great escapes in football terms.

I'd love to see a table fron the old first division at this same stage when Luton were in that position (I can't remember what season it was though), to compares to this current PL table just to see what Luton Pulled off and given what Southampton's next fixtures are, I would wager the challenge for Southampton is far bigger.

All I remember is seeing David Pleat running across the turf like a madman when Luton pulled it off on MOTD (At Chelsea I think it was, I don't think Luton were at home on the final day that season). If Southampton DO pull it off I can imagine their manager going crazy like he did!!!

I think it would be a good fit. I agree he may have bitten of more than he could chew at Chelsea and the job he did at Brighton was nothing short of remarkable. Let's hope West Ham do not get to impatient too quickly and let him have time to develop his vision with the team. If there is no agreement I think they then could look to maybe enticing Dyche and that would leave Potter free to take over at Everton.

The Guardian is reporting that West Ham have agreed a 2 and a half year contract with Graham Potter. Initially talks stalled because West Ham wanted Potter to stay on for the rest of the season and assess whether to keep him on for longer based on performance indicators, while Potter wanted a longer contract. It seems that West Ham have relented.

This morning's West Ham FA Cup press conference has been cancelled with Lopetegui's sacking expecting to be confirmed/announced imminently.

I just hope Potter doesn't find he has bitten off more than he can chew with West Ham, & I actually do think he is a good fit for the Hammers. I'm sure Steve Harris of Maiden will give his approval!! To be fair I think Potter took a risk at Chelesea and ut probably was in all reality, a job too far, but I'd def love to see West Ham nestled inside the top ten (& I'm sure Joannis would agree a top 10 finish woild be a good target to aim for) and very much hope Potter getts things off to a good start tonight.

With it being FA Cup weekend who do we all think are capable of a FA Cup shock this weekend?
If anything, I'd be very happy if we can beat Leicester, Luton beat Notts Forest, and Norwich beat Brighton & the ultimate shock for me?
It would be Tamworth beating Spurs and when I remember when Hereford beat Arsenal, & Sutton beat Coventry - Tamworth winning would be on that same level.
