RE: Transfers in summer window 2014
van Gaal is apparently just wanting 72 hours to sort out affairs before taking over at Old Trafford once the Netherlands have finished with the World Cup. He had a short holiday before going to Brazil and his wife is keen to find new house in Cheshire lol.
It's being reported in the Italian press and in The Guardian that United have tabled a £48 million offer for Arturo Vidal. Its also reports that he wants to move to United and that he will be on a £250,000 a week deal. As usual I will wait for official confirmation but this is one story I hope is real. One of the best midfielders in the world in my opinion. The type of player that we have been badly missing for a few seasons. Also reports are not going away about us signing Vermaelen from Arsenal. Not too sure about that as he always seems to be injured.

United are hard up these days. No longer the 3rd richest club in the world they dropped to 4th last season Smile. They have massive lucrative markets worldwide, especially in the Far East. Also new sponsorship and kit deals have added to the coffers substantially.

this is one of the biggest seasons United have had in recent memory so they simply have to spend big money this summer

you usually get one season of goodwill with regards to attracting top players when not in Champions League,

Massive window for them cause if they're not in contention for top 4 (which I'm certain they will be) in January then they'll struggle to attract the best.

Luis Suarez is set to complete a £80million cash only move to Barcelona in next 48 hours

FIFA are allowing him to break the 'ground ban' for him to have a medical.
