NFL 2023-2024 Season

The coverage of the Chargers @ Bills game was spoilt for me. What was going on with the audio, the crowd noise etc was very low level. It reminded me of watching football with covid restrictions.

I had someone mention that to me during the game on "Social Media"
I didn't have those issues, and I thought he was joking about how bad the LA Crowd is
Chargers and Rams "home" games tend to be filled with mostly fans of the opposing team
I'm pretty sure a lot of the noise for positive plays from the Chargers is piped in (piping in noise has been an ongoing issue for "Dome" teams for a while)
A nagging issue with audio is a real chore during Sports, ruins the enjoyment
With my old provider, I had the opposite problem, no announcers after commercial breaks
That may have been a blessing, but it was always something I had to troubleshoot in the household

Utterly ridiculous 98 yard run for a touchdown by Damien Pierce for the Texans

Edit: All proved rather in vain though as offensively the Texans offered very little until the final quarter. The Cleveland Browns claiming a big win on the road 36-22.

Cowboys 20 - 22 Dolphins
Two strong teams with little between them, it came down the final possession & a game winning field goal as time expired.

Broncos 23 - 26 Pats
Neither team could move the ball on the ground, it became a defensive battle until the 3rd quarter when the Pats scored 20 points. Wilson struck back with 2 touchdown passes to tie the game. Zappe orchestrated a drive to set up a 56 yard field goal attempt for Ryland who had miss twice earlier in the game, including a pat. No pressure for statistically the worst regular kicker in the League, but this time there was no mistake.

Barring miracles the Broncos season is all but over, they need a lot of help even if they win out.

Watching Raiders at Chiefs right now and gone all boggly eyed.

Two defence led touchdowns in SEVEN seconds of play for the Raiders.

Chiefs 14 - 20 Raiders
O'Connell 9-21,62 yds - White 22 carries -145 yds. The whole games hinged on the fumble & interceptions that resulted in 14 points for the Raiders. Mahomes scrambled 10 times for 53 yds in the main due to excellent coverage, constantly pressured sacked 4 times, which is rare. Crosby is a beast.
Surprised that the Chiefs are only 4-4 at home. The 1# seed is gone for them now & will have to do it the hard way in the playoffs. It is highly unlikely that they wont clinch the AFC West.
There's something nice about watching Mahomes struggle, maybe he is human after all.

Aidan O'Connell didn't complete a pass after the 1st quarter
The Raiders defense the last month has really come on strong
You may be onto something, he MIGHT be human.
The Chiefs on the road for the playoff is huge
Miami vs Baltimore New Year's Eve could be the de facto game for the Number 1 seed
Believe it or not, there is a small chance for the Browns to be the Number 1 seed, but it hinges on
Winning Out plus 2 Ravens losses and a loss from the Dolphins

An ugly game so far, which I half expected with 2 great defences. Purdy could be considered unlucky to an extent with tipped balls on 2 of his 2 picks, but 2 were still bad reads.
No comparison with Purdy & Jackson for MVP. Purdy is efficient, usually, but Jackson has the X-Factor, better than Mahomes in some respect, he's unmatchable with his speed when running in the open field.
The Niners are a conservative team, who have playmakers, but their gameplan & scheme doesn't lend itself to come from behind victories.

Latest : 4th interception from Purdy, no way back for the Niners.

The Ravens on the face of it have the tools.
Strong QB, strong defence and the best kicker in the league imo in Justin Tucker. As a team they do seem to have the ability to generate error from opposing teams through relentless pressure. That is something of a formidable weapon to have in any sport as it creates an aura.
The real test though will come in playoff football.
How they handle the business end when honours are on the line.

Difficult night for Purdy to say the least with 4 pick offs.
But he was put under immense pressure on every drive.
The Niners now face a battle to the line to get the number one spot in the NFC. The Eagles and the Lions both level with them on 11-4 as all three scramble for home advantage in the playoffs.
