What a come back from Street Fighter Alpha 2 and a 17 hit combo never done so many hits then the next fight I get 20 hit combo. Completed both Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2 using Ken no continues used.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 Nintendo Switch Demo

Never played any of the games in the series before and it’s little out of my comfort zone as it’s different to what am used but so far really enjoying it. Takes a while to get used to it but once you do it’s fun and there’s swearing which is funny hearing that on a Nintendo console lol.

Shenmue.

Did I really love this when it came out on Dreamcast at the time? I'm finding it difficult to see why I did. This is painfully dull, it hasn't aged well at all.

If you've never played the Shenmue games, but have heard about how ground-breaking and "immersive" they were - don't bother. If you want an immersive open world game set in 1980s Japan, Yakuza 0 is much better. Indeed any Yakuza game is a much better choice than this. Kiwami 2 is out next week, so Im trading this in to get that.

Mafia 3

After at first enjoying the game after some way into the game it’s terrible average at best. The best things going for the game are the rich storylines and the music which was amazing but the game is full of so many problems.

Driving

The car mechanics and controls are fucking terrible, when your driving during missions it’s decent but when you do racing in the game it’s dogshit, the car always spins out of the control the AI cars cheat they not only drive perfectly but take corners at top speed without either breaking and losing control. They then dodge incoming traffic perfectly without being hit and again at top speed. If you get hit you spin out of control if the AI cars get hit nothing. Even when you customise your car this doesn’t give you any advantage. The racing is dull, cheats and feels like a after thought.

Graphics

The game looks better in cut scenes and normal graphics look decent but you get a ton of pop graphics so your driving and then cars or people magical appear in front of you then bang your crash. Your literally seeing the graphics load up. Now I don’t know if this any different on a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X but on the baseline PS4 it’s not great. Sometimes textures don’t even load up so it unfinished.

AI and Story missions

The AI ranges from dumb to being perfect, namely the computer AI cars drive all over the place or your driving and people dive in from of your car causing you to run over them and then the police chasing you speaking of the police terrible AI it’s like you have one level of police where as in GTA you build up wanted levels. The missions are good but after while can get boring because it’s the same missions over and over again with no variety to mix things up which is disappointing considering that it’s a really good story. The lack of cars which the customisation is very basic either have it or go all the way. There no bikes or planes which is really same, if have a lot of money and die you lose half of it so you have to bank it. At first you have drive all the back home but after a while you unlock someone to collect it.
Another negative is you can’t fast travel so it’s a lot of endless driving which can get very boring, poor checkpoints and a lack of restarting.

Overall it feels like the game lacks polish, with these issues and game bugs which let really let the game done. The game had potential and there can be funny and enjoyment but for me it’s a disappointment and a let down especially coming from great Mafia 2.

Mario Tennis Aces

I just picked this up last Tuesday out of my birthday money, and I've been playing it pretty much non-stop this week. Fun & addictive gameplay, with some new mechanics, such as special shots, finishing shots, last chance hits - all that use up energy - so you've gotta be strategic. There's also basic tennis play, in case people find the new mechanics too overwhelming. The story mode is also really fun, as you go through several challenges & boss fights, whilst playing through & unlocking some cool creative courses.

Highly recommended.

Also, you can't take photos of Japanese gravure models in Shenmue.
