Sorry to read that Josh Homme has been/is battling with cancer. Oh, and that QotSA have a new album out the first bit I'm sorry about, not this). Here's an old fave anyway:
I know Glastonbury can be snarky about rock, but I doubt QotSA would ever get booked as headliners even in the best of times.

Similar driving rhythm, almost 'motorik', if you don't know about 1970s' German 'kosmiche' rock/'krautrock', such as Can, who I mentioned recently in the 'Babes With Guitars' thread, Neu!, even Kraftwerk, one of my favourite bands anyway, and various others, search it out!
All positive thioughts for Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden as I found out yesterday that back in February he'd had a mini stroke.
To hear that one of the greatest drummers in rock had suffered that was stunning news in itself, but in the post he made he said he was 70% on the way back.
Nicko is one of the humblest guys you can meet in a rock band .I met him once or twice in the 90's and I even bought him a pint once!!
Keep fighting Nicko, we're all thinking of you & Here's hoping he makes a full recovery
God Bless Nicko.

This news is a few days old guys but I've only just fund out about it this morning and that is that Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has parted ways with the band!.
It came as an absolute shock because I didn't see anything that may have caused this departure. I thought he was an amazing drummer and was a good fit for Slipknot and he did bring his own unique style to to the band - He did have some massive shoes to fill because, for me, Joey Jordison was the ultimate drummer and he was definitely their best drummer imho - even still, Jay Weinberg's departure has come as a shock and not only that but where does the band go from here? - Yes, obviously they have to recruit a new drummer but it has to be one the fits into that 'Slipknot style' imo.
Here's the Official Statement released by Slipknot:

I've just watched "Kittie: Origins/evolutions | Full Documentary" on YouTube.
Quite a compelling and very interesting insight into the bands history. It does go on on for 1 hour 33 mins but I was glued throughout. It delves into their beginnings as a band, at a very early age, right up to almost present day. It sheds light on things I was unaware of, such as the reasons of parting band members throughout the years and the highs and lows that the band has endured.
It has interviews with present and some past members, producers, family members and overall I found it a very interesting documentary, I would highly recommend this one for anyone interested.
