Sorry, private joke. Amazing what viruses and malware get blamed for. Not saying it isn't but symptoms aren't typical 
My personal explanation would be 'It's a 3G connection, what do you expect?'   
I'm guessing the images with the problem are all on the same host(s) 
Could try resetting IE as it is simple to do (Start>Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset) but still thinking it is either proxy or security software issue with the limited info we have 
To check proxy might be easier to contact your ISP to check than bounce back and forward here as they might have actually blocked the sites hosting at their end 
As for what is a proxy server, well it is basically a machine(s) that handles your requests for web pages http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_serverI don't even know who I am so you'll forgive me if I ask 'Who the f**k do you think you are?!'
