RE: Old Stuff ripped from DVDs
I think thats an amazing offer!
My suggestion is that anyone you send these out too should be ripping & uploading more fotage on your behalf too.

As you know, I'm going through my DVDs one by one and ripping them to mp4.
I have bought an external HDD to store them all on.
I can rip them 10x faster than I can upload them.
I've already ripped about 50+ DVDs but have only uploaded from about 10 of them, and I'm not uploading all the footage from the DVDs either, just some clips.
Probably less than 20% of footage is uploaded.

Anyway, After I have ripped the DVDs to mp4, I no longer need to keep the DVDs.
They were just going to go in the bin, but then I thought that maybe some of you guys on here would like them instead.

I am not looking to sell them and make any profit, but I am willing to post some out if you can cover the costs of P&P maybe. I am slightly worried that this might be illegal, in which case, I wont do it. If anyone knows, please explain.
It just seems a bit of a shame to put them all in the bin.

any thoughts on this?

I've found ,to my cost, that hard drives can fail. Make copies to least two drives (or more, and/or reliable cloud storage). If you really need to get rid of the DVDs then fair enough but they're still your ultimate backup copy.

I'd love to take on your DVD but I barely have enough time with some of my own stuff back never mind anyone else's laugh

RE: Old Stuff ripped from DVDs
Awesome work, Some crazy gems in here. Oldschool Ella, Annie, Tara from Babestation, Rachel COLE!!

As for the DVD situation, so each DVD raw footage wise would be 4.7gb if fully topped out. So 4.7gb x 1500 DVD's would be around 7TB?
I'd be happy with the RAW .vob files since they'd be playable and would probably save you some time with the editing and uploading/converting

If someone buys the DVDs/pays for the postage perhaps it would be easier to upload the raw files and then let those who download it take what they want from each CD? Just thinking of ways of making it easier on whoever does the task.

I am currently ripping the DVDs to mp4 using handbrake at a rate of about 1 DVD per 30 minutes. Its reducing the file sizes from 4.7GB on vob down to about 1.5GB of mp4. I'm very happy with this and should hopefully have all my DVDs converted within a few weeks. If I had a fast upload speed, I would upload the lot for you guys. I just cant though. My upload speed is way too slow, and my Internet is basically rendered unusable while Im uploading.

That's fine, I'm more so looking at ways to make it easier to upload for someone else. I don't expect anyone to take on the task of editing content from 1500 DVD's lol.

Your upload speed can't handle it which is understandable and you've already done a lot by providing us with what you have.

I do think the easiest way for someone else would be to maybe do what you've done with handbrake and then upload the mp4 files unedited. Pretty sure most of us can use something like avidemux in copy mode to simply trim what we don't need after downloading.

My upload speed is 12Mbps whilst my download is 220Mbps lol, wish the upload was higher.

In terms of sending the DVD's out and someone paying for the delivery, some rough calculations show it would probably be in the £40-50 range
Each DVD is around 16g in weight x 1500 = 24000g = 24kg
Running that through parcelforce gives prices in the £40 range, but doesn't take into account the weight of the box and any other materials inside (if any).
