RE: Porn Mag Ban
Sadly the Internet has most probably played the biggest reason in the demise of Nuts and lower sales of other magazines despite campaigns to drive them out of mainstream shops.

Yet 20 years ago many of these normal mainstream shops blatantly stocked and sold the top shelf porn or soft porn mags and Sport newspaper.

Local newsagents, WH Smiths, John Menzies, Asda, Gateway and many other sold top shelf porn mags, now you won't even see the sport newspaper there.

But it is the Internet mainly driving sales down.

With music and media stuff, I work in radio and broadcasting, books, magazines, music newspapers etc all used for research and show prep.

Now everyone does it online from websites, Wikipedia in particular, music chart and band/artist websites, and elsewhere killing sales of media and music and internal industry magazines and local newpapers, free websitesmetc in the need for the instant answer and free non costing media.

Sadly its not gonna get better and more magazines including normal mainstream stuff will go the same way....

I really don't care what anyone else thinks!!! Lovely beautiful Honey Scott IS my favourite very cute bundle of yummy Marshmallow Fluff!!! <3

Loaded magazine has now closed down, with the current April edition being the last one :

I'd say the closure of Loaded was the end of an era, but in reality that era ended some time ago.

We now live in a digital era - I don't know about anybody else but I'd rather see a video than static pictures. Anyway with regards to Loaded it went downhill well before the PC Brigade decided to move in.

When it first started aswell as having glamorous babes in it contentwise it was always worth a read. The last time I ever bought a copy of Loaded it was loaded with wall to wall of shit so poor sales is what contributed to its demise.

RE: Porn Mag Ban
Personally i couldn't give a flying fuck if porn mags were banned. (except for of course the principal, why shouldn't people be allowed to buy something they want to buy)

I don't agree with censorship.

I can't believe people still buy porn mags when there is the internet.

However, what is wrong with lads mags? How do they differ from womens mags?

So it is OK for womens mags to talk about sex etc (like they all do) But if a lads mag does that is wrong?

It strikes me as double standards. I haven't bought a mag in quite a few years but i should be allowed that right!

RE: Porn Mag Ban
But lets be honest here, it doesn't quite have the same reward about it all now, buying a mucky mag whilst trying to keep it concealed with a copy of the Financial Times was a skill in itself Bounce

I used to work in a newsagents and I used to have the pleasure of booking the magazines in as I held the keys to the shop. The shop would open at 5AM. I would arrive there at 4AM to set everything up as I was the only one in the shop at the time. Sure it was a bastard having to drag my arse out of bed at 3 every morning but well you could say the job had it's perks as to say Rolleyes

I seem to recall once that my female collegue was the one that had to serve the man who had bought the mucky mag afterall it was her turn to serve, not only did she reverse the papers he had used to conceal the mag with it now clearly displayed for all to see she then said "Early night tonight is it sir" Big Laugh

^ and then she beckoned him into the back room and said look you don't need to buy that when I can help you out, and he couldn't believe his luck and then made sure to write a reader's letter to be published in the mag he was trying to covertly buy Big GrinTongue
