WWE went PG. But what would it be like if it went G? (equivalent to a UK "U" certificate)

RE: wrestling is for children
I've known a few guys who've been into watching wrestling. (And none of them are 'a little bit gay' Rolleyes.) I've seen it a few times ...entertaining is what I think. I've never come across anyone who's believed it's all genuine - even the most dedicated fans occasionally take the mick Wink
If it's the same now, there are kids in the audience, so yes...for children. But there's a lot in there that goes over kids' heads, too. Some is definitely just for adults. Some of the wrestlers are more 'family-friendly' and some are much edgier. If what mdevil316 says is right, it's obvious where the money is; doesn't mean it's exclusive though...

Those wrestlers are proper hard workers, too, really dedicated - I saw a documentary on it once - they need to be superfit, those guys (and girls) and practice, practice, practice. They run a very real risk of injuring themselves (or their opponents) if they're not skilled at what they do. Not a bad example to set, in some ways. It's also a way out of poverty for many of them.

Wrestling's a show. A live (rehearsed) show. Like a play or a soap opera, with storylines, but with proper rough perilous action and injuries shocked

PS. Did I misunderstand the poll/initial post? Was it about ancient Greece and/or the origins of wrestling...cos that's a whole different matter Tongue Wink
PPS. I can't believe I just posted on a thread about wrestling...lol.

RE: wrestling is for children
I've been a fan of wrestling since i was a kid, where's it written that i have too stop when i reach a certain age.I'm the first to admit that it isn't as good now as it was a few years back, but i still like to watch, and with my nephew becoming a fan ( o.k. he's a Cena fan,but hopefully he'll grow out of it. ) i've promised to take him to an event sometime which we're both looking forward too.Personally i don't see what the issue is,if your a fan great,if your not,who cares. The only shock too me is finding out that after years of lusting after big breasted blondes, being branded a wrestling fan means i have to start lusting after big muscled blondes.YIKES.Big Grin

You have to be extremely fit to be a wrestler, although it is pre determined you have to be properly trained so that you can do the moves safely.

RE: wrestling is for children
I used to watch it probably in my early teens but seemed to get bored of it.
It is good entertainment and it is done very well but i just prefer something to be real, and not a pre determined outcome.
I am surprised to see the amount of people who like it, by the threads on this forum so its obviously very popular but just not for meSmile

Im here for a good time, Not a long time !

Ahh ya it is a bit childish but i'll admit i'm a big child as are all my friends. I can't speak for anyone else but for me I don't see it as being any different to watching Eastenders or Coranation Street, after all wrestling is the best soap on the telly.
