A really sharp and inventive satire that touches on race and capitalism held together by an excellent central performance from Lakeith Stanfield.One of the best films made last year.

Reign of the superman (2019)
What an amazing film and what an amazing comeback to form for dc animated movies this and the death of superman are perfect and what batman vs superman and justice league movies should have been...

Hacksaw Ridge 7.9/10 - superb war film that marked Mel Gibson's comeback ( at least as a director). Based on the true story of Desmond Doss a conscientious objector who took part in one of the bloodiest battles of WW2 and singlehandedly saved the lives of 75 men. As he proved with Braveheart and Apocalypto, Gibson is a very talented director and he knows how to stage brutally realistic battle scenes.

This should have won the 2016 best film oscar and not the overrated Moonlight.

Vice. Great performance by Christian Bale but a bit patchy and one sided even for me as someone with an interest in US politics. Dick Cheney comes across as one of the most unscrupulous politicians in the history of the US

Batman & Mr Freeze Subzero.

Movie 43.
98% of this is the worst kind of US-teen-movie-unfunny-spoof-toilet-humour drivel.
And it has no over-riding plot, just a series of disconnected sketches. But....

....the sequence with Kate Winslet and Hugh Jackman in a restaurant on a blind date; as she tries desperately to get someone else to explain/comment on the scrotum hanging from his throat where his Adam's Apple should be, but not wanting to ask him directly about is actually pretty funny.
(He dribbles his soup, asks if it's suddenly got cold etc etc - you can get the idea.
Puerile but also somehow at the same time really inspired).

ditto the one with the "Roger Rabbit" live action/animation mix of Elisabeth Banks as the girlfriend whose boyfriend's cartoon cat is jealous of her and plots her murder "Looney Toons" style.

Honourable mention to the Apple-piss take which sees Richard Gere sitting around with his board struggling to understand why he needs to put a health warning on his mp3 player which just happens to be an exact replica of a life-sized naked woman.
(It has its cooling fan located in ....well, you can guess... and teenage boys are putting their...well, you can guess.....)

Really good live action Manga/Anime film which looks incredible & has amazing special effects & great action sequences plus a very good inspirational underdog story.
