Fury was convincing in victory.
Warrington on the other hand encountered a close tussle against Galahad. Not surprised it ended up in a split decision.

Not to mention the boxing debacle in Jedah, Saudi Arabia yesterday with Hughie Fury & Amir Khan earning big paydays against previously retired boxers in Samuel Peter & Billy Dib (who both probably only came out of retirement for a last big payday).There was a lot more meaningful PPV on Saturday evening which was headlined by a battle of the two hottest up & coming young prospects in the Heavyweight Division Daniel Dubois (21) & Dave Gorman(22).In a hotly anticipated fight of the unbeaten fighters Dubois put on a clinical display stopping Dave Gorman in the fifth round.Gorman with cousin Tyson Fury in his corner just couldn't get into gear & implement the slick boxing he is known for with Dubious dominating every round showing he was the the much bigger puncher of the two dropping Gorman in the 3rd round before closing the show in the 5th round dropping Gorman with a big overhand right with Gorman failing to beat the count.

Canelo loses IBF title
Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has been stripped of his IBF title after failing to agree a fight with mandatory challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko.

In May Canelo beat Daniel Jacobs on points to win the WBA, WBC and IBF belts and unify the middleweight division.

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya issued a statement and said: “We are extremely disappointed at the IBF for forcing the world’s best fighter to relinquish his world title.
“We have been in serious negotiations with Sergiy Derevyanchenko’s promoter. We offered his team an unprecedented amount of money for a fighter of his limited stature and limited popularity, but the truth is that I’m now certain they never had any intention of making a deal. But instead they wanted to force us to relinquish Canelo’s belt. This is an insult to boxing and more importantly an insult to the boxing fans of the world.”

A step too far for Anthony Yarde, against what remains one of the best champions in the history of boxing. Kovalev, in the end, did a number on Yarde, and showed just how good he is at the ripe old age of 36. In round 8 though, how he stayed in the contest (gone for all money) a higher power than me must know, because I sure as hell don't! Yarde paid a price for that effort in the end, but showed that he will likely have what it takes to come again.

I guess if the opportunity arises, you have to take it, but too soon for him. Hope Warren takes appropriate time now to see Yarde ultimately succeed next time around.

That makes it sound routine - this is lomachenko -, so understandable - however few would have seen the performance luke put up coming! He was fantastic, and although he still lost comfortably, sent a message that a title may not be that far away!

Tyson Fury suffered a huge scare to overcome Otto Wallin. The self styled Gypsy King was stunned in the third round when his relatively unknown Swedish opponent caught him with a powerful punch that left him covered in blood. Blood running into his eye from a wide gash caused Fury a major problem, with the 31-year-old frequently having to wipe it clear and that allowed Wallin to pile the pressure on.

But, despite the Swede thinking he had done enough, there was only winner as Fury claimed a unanimous points victory 116-112, 117-111, 118-110.

it's not often that a Cuban turns pro but it sounds like this guy could clean up the heavyweight division once he gets into the top 10

Nigel Benn's comeback looks fraught with danger to me. Bika turned pro the year after Nigel retired, has never been stopped, been the distance with great fighters like Joe Calzaghe and Andre Ward, as well as being 15 years younger and naturally bigger. When I was a teenager, Benn was my favourite fighter and I hope he proves all the doubters wrong like he did against Gerald Mcclennen but it is a big risk.
