We got a love between us and it's like electricity * We got a love like a violent mind * We get our love from white white lines * We got a love that ain't got no name * We kiss our love with our lips like pain * We got a love from nowhere towns * We got a love like electric sounds * We got a love that ain't got no shame * We kiss our love with our lips like pain * Kissing our love with our lips like pain
And soon is now
So many horror films are out there in the world, some well known blockbusters, some cult horror or low budget bollocks that nobody has ever seen, well, maybe one or two,i have been watching horror for years, and it's always a genre favourite in my film club, and as i mentioned there are horrors that maybe no one knows about, hidden gems they could be or forgotten rubbish,i will mention a few films in each post, and pick a breakout from the Dungeon of Horror (this may be similiar to your thing,Kim,but it's different ok),the breakout meaning it's the one to watch, the others,up to you, this post will be japanese horror films
Vampire Girl Vs Frankenstein Girl - a high school boy is in a love triangle with 2 very different girls, one is a vampire and one is made of dead body parts, who does she choose? well, whoever wins the battle between them, gory and inventive, such a daft plot but this is not to be taken seriously
Tokyo Gore School - another high school one,a horror thriller about a new game going around the schools where people's secrets will get revealed on a tell-all website,so stop theur secret from coming out, they must attack their fellow students and steal their mobile phone, good tension but let down by frenetic annoying camera work
Helldriver - From the same guy that brought us Vampire Girl Vs Frankenstein Girl, this film sees a high school girl take on zombies in a post apocalyptic wasteland, gory fun,in fact very over the top gore and great zombie action
Audition - Nasty piece of work from Takashi Miike, known for his brutal and gory horrors and thrillers, this one sees a middle aged man host auditions for women to become his new wife, the woman he selects is very pretty and also bloody mental, nasty stuff, not one for the sensitive viewers
Gozu - Takashi Miike again and this time less gory or disturbing but still has big outbursts of violence and weirdness, this is about a gangster ordered to kill his friend and his friend disappears somehow and the gangster's journey to find him is a weird creepy one, very entertaining black comedy horror
Vampire Girl Vs Frankenstein Girl
Tokyo Gore School
Helldriver
Audition
Gozu
So what is the breakout from the Dungeon from these 5 Japanese gory horrors? All are fairly decent but there can only be one
And it's Gozu,a sort of David Lynch style horror thriller really, enjoyable and very surreal in places, but it's the pick of this bunch,it's the breakout
no english subs in the trailer, but there is on the dvd
GOZU!
I remember watching an australian horror film called Picnic At Hanging Rock with my Dad,i was impressed with it and that got me into more horror, some might think that film is dated now but i still find it chilling,Australia has produced loads of horrors since that classic, but which one is worthy of seeing
Wolf Creek - Based on true events apparently,a group of backpackers in Aussie get their car fixed by a creepy man who then ambushes them and takes them back to his home to torture them, bloody violence and disturbing things then happen,Aussie torture porn
Storm Warning - Excellent horror thriller about a couple taking refuge from a storm at a farmhouse and then are at the mercy of a mad old man and his even madder sons, very atmospheric and suspenseful one this
The Loved Ones - Very, very good aussie horror thriller,a young man turns down a girl's invite to a school dance,so she and her pissed off dad plan their revenge on him, entertaining and hopefully the Hollywood remake isn't awful
Road Train - Kind of like the classic film Duel where a man is being chased by a truck out on a desert road, this film has teens being chased by a train that appears to have no driver, very well made, good tension and some surprises
Primal - A bunch of friends go to study a cave painting, one of the girls goes swimming and something in the water soon turns her into a wild killer that wants to eat her friends, very bloody in places and parts that make you jump,Aussies can sometimes beat Hollywood and other countries when it comes to creepy gory horror
Wolf Creek
Storm Warning
The Loved Ones
Road Train
Primal
All entertaining films,Australia is good at horror, but only one is good enough to breakout, and that is...
The Loved Ones, not a total gorefest if that is what some people are after, but it is the pick of this bunch for me,twisted and quite funny too and worth repeated viewings
The breakout from Down Under
We got a love between us and it's like electricity * We got a love like a violent mind * We get our love from white white lines * We got a love that ain't got no name * We kiss our love with our lips like pain * We got a love from nowhere towns * We got a love like electric sounds * We got a love that ain't got no shame * We kiss our love with our lips like pain * Kissing our love with our lips like pain
Wes Craven has directed some great horrors, most people probably know him for A Nightmare on Elm Street and the Scream films,or for his disturbing debut that is Last House On The Left, but he has directed a few horrors that some people may have not seen or even heard of or they are aware of them but just don't want to watch, you'd be missing out on one that is a fine horror adventure
Deadly Friend - A geeky high school boy who has built a robot puts the robot's brain into his best friend's brain and soon she goes on a revenge killing spree, sounds silly but it is quite entertaining with some good gory moments
Shocker - A serial killer is executed on the electric chair but his soul lives on through electricity and carries on killing, yet again sounds ridiculous but Craven makes it all entertaining with some good eerie moments and bloody deaths
The People Under The Stairs - A young boy and 2 adult friends break into a rich couple's house to rob it and are soon locked in and find out the couple are pretty psychotic and they keep cannibalistic children down in the basement (under the stairs),very underrated Craven film, this has great suspense and even some humour
Cursed - A sexy high school girl is cursed as a werewolf and must find the wolf that attacked her to end the curse, nothing special really but there is a good scene in a car park with a girl being stalked by the werewolf plus Christina Ricci is hot and is the best person in it
My Soul To Take - A supposedly dead serial killer is back and ready to stalk and kill 7 teens whose birthday falls on the night he was executed,a ho-hum slasher from Mr Craven,a few good creepy moments but mostly dull
Deadly Friend
Shocker
The People Under The Stairs
Cursed
My Soul To Take
But there is only one that is worth watching if you want an entertaining, thrilling film, and that is...
The People Under The Stairs,Wes Craven's second best film in my opinion after Scream,so underrated, more people need to see this hidden horror gem

Chuck Norris has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). the virus is now in quarantine for 14 days.
Yeah,it's a nasty piece of work that one,i also recommend Cannibal Ferox
