Good point. All TV channels are under a strict duty to have impartial news coverage and represent both sides. Perhaps we should complain to Ofcom and insist that Richard Desmond is allowed airtime to reply.

They get so much airtime because they have a spokesperson and the press know where they can go for a good quote. bet mumsnet didnt know there was a problem til someone in the press said did u know this happens all the time

guessing not many guys will have the balls to go on and fight the case for having the channels on TV and be labelled a Pervert

has anyone actually been able to find the so called quotes: "I can't believe they are on when toddlers are up and about" and "You switch in and hey, porn" on the mumsnet site as yet?Huh

I cant find any link at all to the 'lively discussion' that sparked all of this

You obviously missed my post #103 on page 11, where I link to the Mumsnet thread:

http://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.ph...pid1014677

Mumsnet didn't kick this off at all, it was the Daily Mail. They went fishing for 'quotes' to back up their story and found a Mumsnet thread that was a year old and which did not mention Dutch licences at all.

They then copied the two quotes below in bold (look at the dates). Even then they were careful not to include the second part of the first quote, where the poster admits that the channels can be deleted!

They also edited out the '5/6am' mentioned in the toddler quote.

Mumsnet thread:

SKY, VIRGIN etc are all subscription services however FREEVIEW is what it says....FREE. You just switch on and hey presto..PORN. Ok, you can delete/add pin numbers to the adult channels but as I said before, not all adults/parents are I.T savvy.
I would like to see these services restricted until the adults watching can subscribe to the service proving their age.

Yes, I mean the Babestation ones. Not quite hardcore porn but definitely pushing it. There are about 6 or 7 channels showing this material from 10pm through to 5/6am. I can't believe they are allowed on at 5/6am when toddlers are up and about. Ok, so not all toddlers turn the telly on but some can and do! Do you really want them to find these channels while looking for c-beebies etc!!!

I believe someone linked to it earlier in the thread.

EDIT: See post above.

ah cheers, yeah i completely missed over that part!
Freeview deliberatly rejigged the channel numbers in 2006/7, up to that point I think it was only a couple of late night adult shows that broadcast (and I think they were both subscription ones anyway) but the news channels used to be on nos 40-43 ish(i remember sky sports news was 43 and sky news 42) whilst the kids channels have always been where they are (70's i think) but then they were put behind the kids channels so that there was a buffer.

Won I just discovered this thread. It's obvious the women on mumsnet are just insecure because they're husbands are knocking one out whilst watching the babechannels rather then have sex with their fat, over the hill cellulite asses.

I suggest if they've put on weight after having a child they get down the gym and let people watch what the fuck they want the bunch of stupid jealous cunts.

Perhaps someone should suggest to Mumsnet that they try doing, oh I don't know, some actual parenting?! It is, after all, supposed to be a site 'by parents for parents' (or is it, in reality, just a site for misandrists to have a good whinge?) Rolleyes

While we're at it, perhaps someone could introduce 'Ofcon' to the concept of parenting, too? Wink

OK reading through that mumsnet thread, it seems to be honest that most people are pointing at the OP and saying kids shouldnt be up, or delete the channels anyway. I wouldnt generalise about views on members of mumsnet as its probably a very good site for parents as this seems just a poster who thought the thread would catch fire and they could get compensation for damaging their childrens tiny minds

Never forget perverts pay their tax and national insurance too - quite possibly funding some of the working families tax creditss that the people on mumsnet no doubt claim. Other than the odd wanking injury I doubt that the 'channels' add much to the nhs bill - unlike the tobacco and alcohol industry. Though like the porn industry employing camera/sound/distribution companies/printers etc it seems that the money and employment generated by these industries goes over the heads of those on mumsnet etc.

Doubtless i'd be accused of 'stream of consciousness' and a couple of grammatical errors there and that would be their only argument.

If anyone does join mumsnet can you throw in a few random , : ; just to piss them off and give them something to do, thanks and if anyone points it out to you just reply "i love the smell of school dinners in the morning".

would all those wishing to take part in today's round of multiple username bingo please note emails must be submitted before 5pm
