I just pegged The Thing 1982 steel book. That should be a small investment.

For the thing 1982 it's a cracking deal, you'd struggle to get the thing none steel book on ebay for that. No idea why it goes for so much though.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
The two blu rays that i highly recommend are the films Taken And Man On Fire both cracking action films and well worth the upgrade from dvd. Both films have great picture quality crystal clear images and the colours are deep and rich. The sound on both films are brilliant and when you have it set up on a 5.1 cinema system you hear every bullet and explosion. I picked these up as steel books for £9.99 from play.com which i think is a very cheap price for a steel book and in future you'll be paying a lot more for them. Both films come with the blu ray and dvd copy of each film, theres no digital copy which is a shame and would have been the icing ono the cake and theres a decent amount of extras on both films.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Already mentained this in the Smallville section but Zavvi are selling seasons 5 - 10 on blu ray for £9.95 each to me that's a bargain as there anything from 50 quid each, along with Supernatural Seasons 1 - 6 on blu ray £9.95, highly recommend both shows on blu ray.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
One Blu Ray i would NOT recommend buying is Caligula Imperial Edition, this is the explicit uncut version of the film with many hardcore scenes included. The picture quality is not great and the sound is really muffled in places. It comes with a second disc filled with extras but these are only normal quality although there are a few on the Blu Ray disc itself. A decent package but the poor film transfer lets things down.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
One blu ray boxset i highly recommend that you have in your collection is The Lord Of Rings Extended Edition. The Packaging is first class really nicely put to together and is held to together with a magnet and when opened up you get a map, the box art is really nice with a black and gold trim. In the packaging you get 15 discs the downside is that some of the discs are just standard dvd where as the films are of course on blu ray. For some reason the each of the three films are split on two blu ray discs the same as to what they did when the extended edition came out on dvd a few years i thought that maybe because blu ray discs hold more memory that each film would fit on one blu ray film i guess they wanted the best picture quality possible, you only get the extended cut not the normal version(The dvd version of the box sets came with two cuts of the films).Let me just say that the picture quality has to be best quality i have ever seen on a film not a grain in sight, the colours are deep and rich and you can well see the difference with this and its dvd counter part, its kind of not a shock as Peter Jackson had each film frame by frame digitally remastered. I wish a lot more companies made this effort with there films as this shows what blu ray is really capable of so for picture it easily gets a 10. The sound is top notch you really have to have this hooked up to a 5.1 cinema system to fully benefit these films you hear every thing crystal clear and loud bangs and booms and swords clashing even right down to the fire and water in some scenes this again gets a 10. The extras are really good there the same as what you got on the dvd version a few years ago the two downsides is that one of features is missing but you gain a couple new ones and the extras are only on dvd's not blu ray not sure if this was due to money and may have driven up the price of the box set. Another little thing is that the American version came with digital copies of each of the films it would have been nice if we had got that too, doesn't bother too much as i very rarely use digi copies of my blu ray films that i buy just would have been a nice touch so i would give it 9 here. All in all you have to have this in collection and is well worth the money and upgrade from the dvd box set to Blu Ray one, You would have to be made not to buy this box set really glad i did. Sorry i took so long in reviewing it theres a long story as to why if any one really wants to know lol.
