RE: Liverpool FC
It makes me laugh when Alberto Aquilani gets labled injury prone by people that know fuck all about him, he came to us having played about 50 or so games in 4 years due to injury but has since got over them & played 55 or so games in italy since he's been there.
Yes he's a very good passer of the ball & moves well with the play & this would be his roll in a 4-3-3 Rodgers style team, he also gets in good positions around the box.
One of the reasons he went to Italy if I remember rightly was due to his actress girlfriend not wanting to give up her career & move to England.
I said he's too lethargic to play in the Premier League but that was with last seasons tactics & I think we'll have a new formation & playing style this season which would suit him but he'll end up like Danny Murphy who was injured the season before Rafa came so didn't know much about him & decided to sell him to bring in his own players one of which was Xabi Alonso, this'll be the same with Brenden Rodgers wanting to bring in his own signing or two so Aquilani will be sold at a cheap price like Dirk Kuyt to cut the wage bill. Both of them were on £60,000 to £80,000 & the rumoured Daniel Sturridge, Adam Johnson & Gylfi Sigurðsson would be on £25,000 to £45,000.
£3m is silly but if we've already got a transfer budget in place then any money we receive will be a bonus as the main thing will be getting space in the wage budget. I think & hope he'll stay but we may yet see this happen again with Joe Cole leaving for Tottenham for around £6m?
I wouldn't want Liverpool signing any never before heard of players from the Euros as I wouldn't want to over spend on a player who's done well for 3 or 4. I wouldn't call him unheard of at 21 years old but Alan Dzagoev looks decent & has a good scoring recored at club level but I still wouldn't buy him this season as his price will now be £20-£30m which Roman will be willing to pay. Next season we has a decent season & scores 5 goals but his price goes down to £15m tops. Gulfi would cost us a little extra than Swansea about £10m but has proven he can do it in the Preamier League.
