RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I know this blu ray isn't new but highly recommend X-men and especially if any one has this on dvd as its well worth the upgrade to blu ray as not only is the picture quality pretty much crystal clear but the sound a huge improvement. The extras are the same as the dvd version so your not getting anything new here am afraid. You can pick this up really cheap these days along with the other two in a blu ray box set. Will review the next two films as and when i get to watch them. This is a must have in upgrading to the blu ray version Smile.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
ive already got all 5 current xmen films on bluray the 1st 4 (xmen, x2, xmen:the last stand and xmen origins wolverine) in one bluray box set and the triple play bluray release of xmen 1st class in which you get a bluray copy of the film with a good amount of extras, a dvd copy of the film and a digital copy of xmen 1st class. all of them have top picture quality and sound. good time to get them given that this year sees the next wolverine film out and the next xmen film, days of future's past being announced

reccoment the ghostbusters bluray steelbook which i got today for just £11 at hmv. good artwork on the front and back, especially the picture of mr staypuft on the back and inside there is a pic of all 4 ghostbusters. full 1080p picture and 5.1 sound along with lots of xtras

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Got this through the post this morning and its the blu ray Kick Ass i already have this on blu ray but what makes this one different is one is the steel book.
The first thing you notice is the incredible art on the front of case but also on the back as well, there's even inside art work as. I would have to say as art work goes this has to be one best looking steel book's that i currently own its just so visually striking even the title Kick Ass on the front of the case is embossed giving it that classy look.
Won't do a full review of the blu ray as i already did on as its the same disc but both picture and sound quality amazing and loads of extras too and along with a few other steel books Play are selling some in a sell starting from £7.49 so i picked up the Wolverine one which i'll review when it turns up so i highly recommend picking this up at this really good price. I managed to pick up mine for £5.99 as got it via a private seller on play trade.
Also picked up Mortal Kombat on blu ray not a bad film when you just watch it for it is, really good picture quality along with the sound as well and theres only a couple extras but its not bad for a fiver.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I already have this on blu ray but i picked on the steel book version of the Wolverine from play.com the art work on the steel book is excellent. The front of the blu ray has Wolverine with his claws which are still bone on the back its a x ray image of Wolverine but he has the metal through out his body and on his claws. The inside art work is great too a very impressive steel book.
Not sure if i reviewed the normal version of this film but will do a quick review just in case. The picture quality is great a full 1080p transfer, pretty much crystal clear but there's a places where theres grain but over all all a huge improvement over the dvd version. The sound is awesome and you'll benefit from playing this on a home cinema system. There's a few extras on here plus you get the dvd version, if you a X-Men, Wolverine or a steel book fan then its worth having in your collection. Not sure if Play have any left as the last time i looked only private traders were selling it but it was expensive.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I highly recommend the film Dredd on blu ray, picture quality wise what you get here is 1080p transfer, picture is always crystal clear i must say the colours look deep and rich especially when it comes to light and dark colours, when it goes into slow-mo the images look very impressive and alway staying very detailed a great way to show case blu ray. The sound is very impressive too you really benefit from having this hooked up to a 5.1 cinema system the explosions and thumping sound track again really impressed.
The the blu ray falls down is on the extras there isn't a lot here theres a hand full but it would have been nice to see more, on the same disc you get the 3D version of the film. Its a shame with the extras as the region 1 version comes with a digital copy and dvd copy of the film but most places are selling it for £12.99 so its not so bad.
Is it worth picking up yes if loved it in the cinema which i never got to see it there and if your a Judge Dredd fan then its well worth having it in your collection. Smile.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I highly recommend the Blu ray Serenity, as you know this followed on from the tv series Firefly. Along with the tv series this film was unrated in my book. Now i had this on dvd but i upgraded to the blu ray version, the one picked up was the steel book version, the art work at the front and back of the steel is very impressive and striking. Title Serenity is embossed on the front of steel book giving it that classy finish.
As for the picture quality its stunning and well worth the upgrade from the dvd version, a full 1080p transfer. The colours are deep and rich and really show cases how blu ray films should be on screen never the less very good picture quality.
The sound along with the picture quality is very impressive, when your playing this through a 5.1 home cinema system its very impressive, the thumping sound track, explosions and all back ground noises are really heard through this again very good.
As for extras there's tons here to watch and view again very impressed not a shock seeing as its from Joss Whedon. If you was a big fan of the series, Joss Whedon or sci fi its a most have in your collection whether you get the steel book version or the standard edition of the blu ray.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I highly recommend the blu ray Looper, first of all the picture quality is crystal clear and as usually 1080p transfer. The colours on this transfer are out standing with everything looking deep and rich. The sound quality is amazing with a 5.1/DTS mix you really benefit from having a home cinema system set up again along with picture impressive. As for extra's theres a good few on the disc plus exclusive blu ray extras too. The only disappointing thing is that theres now digital copy unlike the region 1 version. The standard version of Looper comes with a special slip cover which when you move it changes from Bruce Willis to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, theres always a steel book version which used to be a HMV but is available every where now the price on is £18 but if you order off Zavvi its only £14.95, the cheapest place to get the standard version is Sainsburys at £12.99.

That film was truely aweful, but mindless enjoyable bunkum nonetheless.
