You can still use smilies in the quick reply box, but need to type them in.

I think the answer to BigChuck's question regarding the quick reply box is that if you gave the quick reply box all the usual functions including smilies, there simply wouldn't be any point in having a quick reply box at all, as it would be identical to the new reply option.

Is there such a thing as a raised eyebrow smilie? I'd find it a useful addition
