All this talk about the red card has knocked Rooney's omission last night from the headlines, otherwise it would have been the big story. In 2010 when Rooney asked for a transfer from Man Utd he said he wanted the club to sign better players. Now they do have better players and that's why Rooney isn't first choice any longer.

Not the behaviour I expect from the manager of one of the biggest teams in the world. He has an obligation to the fans, the board and the footballing world in general to act in a more professional manner.

UEFA have announced that Man Utd have been charged with failing to fulfil their media obligations.

Why so surprised at Fergie shunning the press, how long did he refuse to speak to the beeb, was it one season, or two?
Nice to see Uefa take swift action, pity the Premier League didn't take a similar stance early on and put a dent in his arrogance sooner.

After watching tonight i can safely say PSG without ibrahimovic are very poor and are toothless, considering the millions they have spent i'd say out of the teams left in if they continue to play like they have they have no chance at all going any further.. Valencia deserved to go through tonight...

Surely uefa have better things to do than punish Sir Alex for not speaking to the press, i don't see it as a big deal

I've no problem with the referee sending off Nani for dangerous play. But he has to be consistant. He should has given the same penalty to the Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez, who came charging off his line and stuck two fists on Nemanja Vidic head. But nothing was given.

I had a laugh at Roy Keane last night. He said that the referee was right in sending Nani off. In all his playing days he never agreed once with a refereeing decision. And if was still playing now he'd be sent off in ever match he played.

He played ball with sky who were/are the main sponsor of the premier league .
He never fell out with bbc sport dept it was bbc news dept and panorama team.So he refused all interviews with all bbc representatives as revenge .He's still never had an apology from beeb but gives them regular interviews now .I wonder why ,seeing as he's supposed to be "a man of principle"?
He's just a bad loser .
