vista service pack 2
Don't know whether this is any use to anyone or not but vista service pack 2 was released a few days ago. I've downloaded it and my machine is now going 100% faster, i've gained 30gb on one hard drive (don't ask me why unless it's cleaned out crap) and my usually slow mobile broadband is now half decent in terms of speed.
would all those wishing to take part in today's round of multiple username bingo please note emails must be submitted before 5pm

RE: vista service pack 2
i've been running windows 7 beta since it started and only had 1 issue, which was fixed quickly, not had any problems whatsoever with it. best OS yet.

RE: vista service pack 2
i never had any trouble with vista on the 10 machines i put it on, well just one little one, but that was only a driver issue cos the company just took forever to make a driver. from what i know, the only troubles people actually had with vista were down to the other companies not making their software compatible with it, testing it properly or companies not making drivers, i thought it was a better os than the rep it got.

The suggested method is -
Open Control Panel
Click on Programs
In the left-hand panel click View installed updates
In the 'Uninstall an update' find and click Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB948465) and click Delete
Follow the instructions on the screen
A possible issue will occur if you have Windows Update set to automatic as it will recognise SP" is not present and attempt to download it every day! It is also possible that other future updates (not just Service Packs) might require SP2 to be present so you'll probably have your arm twisted into having it in the long run.
