Not a very good effort by India, losing 9 wickets after tea, and worse than their 1st innings when the conditions were against them.

India have appeared to go through a 180 degree turnaround in their performances over the last two test matches. A truly woeful display by them at Old Trafford showed they had reached their nadir in this series.

I saw him with a bandage right across his face. He looked a bit like Adam Ant.

England won the toss and inserted India in the 5th test at The Oval. The side that destroyed India in 3 days at Old Trafford was unchanged, England resisting any temptation to recall Steve Finn and giving Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes another chance to prove their worth.

Lunch is taken with India 43/5. Jordan has taken 2 wickets and Anderson, Broad and Woakes 1 each.
