I've asked about this and its definitely not policy. In seems to be stupid girls being greedy and not realising that the best Daytime girls build a loyal fan base of guys who make long calls so pissing them off is the opposite of what they are supposed to do. The producer wouldn't know if the phone caller was the one who wanted to take the girl private so its not their fault either.
