Did you know that October is the longest month in the year.
Although there are others with 31 days, October is 1 hour longer due to the clocks going back 1 hour at the end of British Summer Time.

When people ask me what will I spend the extra hour on, I reply putting the clocks back one hour.

The great storm of 1987 was not the fault of Michael Fish who famously read out to camera "well earlier today a woman phoned the BBC and said there was a storm coming, well don't worry there isn't..." but it was Bill Giles who owned up years later that he was the one that mentioned it.
