What have you noticed lately?

The slightest movement in the wrong way can result in a back or side spasm. This happened to me twice, once back on February when I hurt my back reaching for a cushion and then this morning reaching for of all things a tap when about to do my teeth. Ah the vagaries of being/getting older. Isn't life a real bastard at times?

Ice cream vans very rarely venture out when it's very hot, as it has been recently, but as soon as the temperature drops and/or overcast they come round. Luckily for them all the kids are off school and being the Summer they are more likely to want an ice-cream or lolly even in that sort of weather. Odd though at venues around the country, summer festivals and even Glastonbury you do get fixed pitch ice-cream vans plying their trade.

Yes but unfortunately the price isn't reduced, but you do get less sugar and fat-or so they tell us.

You rarely hear of a bank robbery these days as mostly nowadays people use online banking and so cybercrime is easier; better than sticking a bit of stocking over your face and using a shooter(gun) for a blagging Smile

People born in the 80s and beyond would find it difficult to believe that yours truly would always leave the Mars bar til last in Christmas selection boxes because I couldn’t finish the damn things. Not only were they bigger length wise but it seemed they were ridiculously thick as well. Add to that the fact they tasted different as well, more of a sickly sweetish flavour compared to today’s version, and I’d be genuinely struggling by the time I’d gotten through more than half of it.

Not just bars, but tins or other containers of chocolates especially at Christmas time-disgraceful, less in them but you only get bargains at that time because they need to offload them-put more back and settle on a decent price. Ideal world and all that.

My Swallows have gone, there were 5 in the nest.
Been watching them since they were just a row of beaks sticking out round the edge. Then it was a row of little black heads sticking out. Last few days they've been balancing on the edge of the nest, on and off.
Yesterday there were 3 left, today they're all gone.

Gonna miss the little buggers Sad

Roses we thought had died off due to the extreme heat last month have made a re-appearance in the garden, hardy souls it seems. Lovely colours white, red, pink and an orange one.

They’ll be back...probably have to wait until next April or so, but they’ll be back.
