England Tour of South Africa 19/20

South Africa close on 256/7. It's more runs than looked likely for a long time, but Jordan was costly at the end of the innings leaking 40 runs from his final 3 overs.

England looked comfortable at 232/4 before collapsing to 252/8 .
They were close enough to their target though to not completely self destruct and scrambled over the finish line.

Attention now turns to the three match T20 International series as England ramp up preparations for the T20 World Cup later this year.

With Archer missing for the next three months I think there is enough quality in the England squad in all three sides to compensate for his loss, but at the same time there will be times when guys who don't normally bowl will be tossed the ball. Hopefully Archer will be fit in time for the start of the domestic season and the home test series against both West indies & Pakistan this summer. The ODI series against Australia will be a test to see where we are with preparations for Down Under as well.

It's the first T20 and South Africa have posted 177/8. England pegged them back towards the end and will not be unhappy with the final total, considering that it was 105/1 at the halfway stage.

England couldn't manage to get 7 required from 7 balls and ended up losing by 1 run. A truly brilliant game though.

It's the second T20 and England stick with the same side, so Denly continues and there's still no place for Malan despite him having a great T20 record. After the disappointing finish to the last game when England had 5 wickets in hand when it came to the last 7 balls, but could only manage 5 runs, a win is essential today to keep the 3 match series alive.

England make 204/7 after flogging 79 from the last 5 overs with a sizzling cameo from Moeen Ali (39 from 11 balls).

South Africa reached 202/5 with 2 balls remaining but Tom Curran took wickets with both the last two balls of the match and England won by 2 runs.
