Penguin Post Office 2014 BBC



Filmed at the small base at Port Lockroy on the Antarctic Peninsula. The outpost, which is manned through the Southern summer to cater for cruise ships, has a museum, gift shop and the most Southerly Post Office in the world.
The base is surrounded by several thousand Gentoo Penguins which mate and raise their chicks almost completely oblivious to the human visitors. The film follows the penguins through the breeding season along with the Brown Skuas which prey on the penguin eggs and chicks.

The scenery is beautiful and the penguins are, yes you guessed it, adorable, except when they peck a chick to death for straying away from it's parents.
The scene where a female returns after a fishing trip to find her mate dallying with another female is funny. Mrs P goes berserk attacking the fancy woman until she's driven off before chastising Mr P with a few well aimed pecks for his impertinance.

Trust Morecambe & Wise...
A 4-part series from before Christmas, with Lenny Henry and guests discussing many old sketches and stuff. The inclusion of Gary Morecambe inevitably meant the focus tipped more towards Eric than both he and Ernie.
