Batwoman

The producers have confirmed that they are replacing Batwoman with a totally new character rather then replace the character Kate Kane some of the reason I heard was because of respect to Ruby Rose.
At the moment they haven’t come up how there gonna explain it all due to the cliffhanger which ended the season early because of the virus which they still have to wrap up but they will explain why the Kate Kane disappears.

They should just recast and keep Kate Kane as Batwoman. So much of the show is centred on Kate Kane. Her entire family is part of the main cast, her cousin is freaking Batman, seems like it might just be easier to recast, would make more sense to the main plots so far too.

Since Batman (1989) there have been 10 actors on live action film/tv who have played Batman/Bruce Wayne by my count, they can stretch to 2 to play Batwoman/Kate Kane surely.

I've enjoyed the first series of Batwoman, I just hope a new character doesn't screw things up more than having to recast the lead actor would have.

^^^ at the end of day what’s done is done so let’s see where the show goes from here.

i havent seen all the episodes yet but this is just going to be confusing plot wise, she's going to randomly vanish and someone else is randomly going to put on the suit? They could do with (at least) 1 episode (that includes ruby rose) where the "mantel" is passed so to speak.

^^^ the best bet is to wait and see how they deal with it as they must have some idea as they wouldn’t have come up with using another character in the first place.

Actress Javicia Leslie has been cast as the new Batwoman aka Ryan Wilder and has put out a statement about being cast:


"I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community,"
