Defensively we will be weaker losing Albert Haynesworth, However we drafted some receivers and got Nate Washington so hopefully we should have a bit more offence, I predict we will go 10-6
10-6eek Well i guess we're still on-track, Just need to win the last 10 Bounce Yeah i think i need to lie down too!!!annoyed

Stranger even more unlikely things have happened in life. There has been a virgin birth, Tony Blair has admitted to making mistakes whilst in government, hell Detroit lions even won a game(even though that was only against the redskinslaugh)

I'd be telling porkies if i said i knew The Raiders would beat The Eagles on sunday,i can't begin to tell you how delighted i am that The Raiders after all these years finally decided to use the blitz in a game,15 times they blitzed McNabb resulting in six sacks and general confusion from The Eagle offense.I doubt Defensive co-ordinator John Marshall will be allowed to do it again,it's no secret that Al Davis hates the blitz and The Raider philosophy for the last 40 years has been man on man defence, with the linebackers playing coverage,i bet Al was fuming at seeing the LB's blitzing around the edge.
Enthusiasm renewed for next sunday and The Jets coming to town Smile

Al Davis gets a lot of criticism for personnel decisions, but the acquisition of a pigeon on special teams is inspired Big Grin

that's the thing there is a fine line between genius and insanity. He once drafted a punter in the first round who ended up being an inspired signing now this. Could it make up for all the other thousands of insane decisions he has made in the last 5 years?laugh

I hope the Wembley game between The Patriots and The Bucs is competitive,i can't see it somehow,it'll be a massive let down for everybody if it's a blow out and The Pats rest the first stringers after the first half.I think the NFL,if they're serious about expanding the sport, then these games need to be between teams of an equal standing.(Redskins v Raiders anyone? 6-3 scores can be exciting too you know Big Grin)

I am amazed that teams volunteer to be the home side because you lose the obvious home advantage of familiarity with the venue and crowd support. For the patriots (away team) it makes no difference where they play when they play away from home if anything they benefit from the noise the home crowd make being taken away from the game, which home supporters like to use to great effect on the opponents 3rd down attempts, to disrupt the play calling.

Tampa are that bad I doubt home advantage makes a difference.

Not the way we play them!
On a more serious note it is a long enough journey for East coast teams to make, but it would be a hell of a journey for West coast teams like Oakland to make from the other side of the states. Probably one of the main stumbling blocks to a franchise based in London- an idea that keeps popping up as in January this year http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/jan...ondon-team

At the time Tampa agreed to put themselves up as the home team at wembley they did not envisage such a shocking season(though to be fair the games are all reasonably close) so, as far as Tampa were aware it could matter. Now with the season they have had I agree it wont matter that much any way. This season they have been crap at home and away so maybe a neutral venue might be their only hopeRolleyes

You make an excellent point about the west coast teams logistical problems, last year when The Chargers came over to play The Saints, despite the bye week, they lost three of the next four games their only win was against a very poor Chiefs side in a one-point win.A lot of the American media said at the time, the slump was due to the travelling they did.
I don't think a London franchise would ever happen, they would have to take into account the fact you'd have to relocate several hundreds of American personnel to the UK.Players, coaches, front office staff, medical staff and this isn't taking into account families, that would no doubt want to come over as well,or would they? i could almost foresee a Eli Manning type scenario where players drafted by the London franchise would refuse to come here citing family/personal issues.

5hrs extra not that much of a big deal. Make it that the visiting team always play in London after a bye week if possible. Also make London team play 4 games on the trot at home and 4 away sequentially. I think it would work well but I don't see why they would want to expand the Nfl for two reasons; 1) they have 8 divisions 4 teams in each division, division champions automatically go into play offs.
2) It would ruin Americas favourite past time of calling the winners"world champions" in a competition in which only American teams compete in.
