I do like it, but it's nowhere near as good as it could/should be, it's too much family drama, not enough Texas Ranger action. The balance is all wrong to keep me entertained, so it isn't must watch by any means, which is a shame. What I was hoping, is that it'd be along the lines of the CBS reboot shows, they're good, they pay homage and are fun and action packed, but CW haven't done that (yet) with this, it needs fixed imo.

If it Jared wasn't in it, I think I probably would have binned it off tbh, but I'm willing to stick with it for now.
Google's 62% is a bit harsh, but it isn't worth more than 7/10 at the moment. We are only four episodes in though, so there is a chance (hopefully) that it'll get a bit better and we'll see more personality from Cordell and more action overall. Fingers crossed.

I think they was point of it being different rather then being a poor copy and it’s face it, it was always gonna be a tough challenge with Chuck Norris and his martial arts back ground.

True and I think that's were part of the problem lies with the reviews, martial arts were a massive part of the appeal, so removing that aspect but not replacing it with something as entertaining, like more cop action, they've made him being Walker/a Texas Ranger a bit pointless up to this point. He could be any kind of regular cop tbh.

I'm hoping he actually breaks the rules and goes badass when he finds out more about what happened to his wife. More action please. lol.

The problem is that if they used that aspect of it being martial arts is would have been same as the previous show. The problem with remakes of shows or movies is it’s always compared to the original version so only route is you get a different version.
When you think Texas Walker you think of Chuck Norris who then you associate him with action and martial arts which has been his whole career. Now let’s just say they decided to make the remake action and martial arts it gets compared to the original, then it’s cries of it’s a copy or the person is a copy of Chuck Norris so you end having make a very different show I wouldn’t wanna watch a remake that’s the same, that’s why for example Star Trek now is so different with Voyager and Enterprise they were regurgitating the same stories from previous trek people got sick of it ratings dropped and now you get the Star Trek now which is very different. Am not defending the show for being good or being bad but I see why it’s so different plus we’re living in a different age of television.
