That's the part cynical ol' me wondered about the refund. Is the refund automatic when the timer runs out or does it have to be requested, banking on those not savvy enough to request it?

From what I understand with streamate gold shows, credits are only pledged and not billed until the show starts on time. So no need to refund if the timer runs out as it was never billed in the first place.

I'm sure someone from BS will be on here to clear up everything about these shows

I can remember trying out the Gold Shows a few years ago when BS first began doing the Streamate shows. IIRC, the second show I tipped for wasn't even 50% to the tip target when the timer ended. I figured I'd get my money refunded like it said. What happened instead though was that the girls just went ahead and began the show anyway. But they just sat there saying that they couldn't start playing until the tip target was met. Eventually guys did tip enough to surpass the tip total, and we got an amazing 1.5 minute g/g show

It wasn't much money, so it is what it is. I never really gave the Gold Shows a 2nd look after that though.

Anyway, can BS be trusted not to do things like this nowadays, and actually refund the credits if the tip target isn't reached?

^ If they breach those terms they risk lots of chargeback claims and that will be very damaging to them as banks tend to put up costs or withdraw facilities.

Sure they will find some loophole in all this, I mean if one tips for a gold show and the girl overrides it for x amount of times, the tipper logs out for waiting too long, gold show never happens but does not get refunded as the tipper left the stream. I think BS will hold onto any contributions for gold shows for as long as they can. I could be wrong, but I'm gonna wait till things are clearer, I reckon by New Year we should know. You can trust BS to be crafty though.

That strikes me as a rather risky move because it's inviting poor ratings. Streamate remove gold show status from someone if they no longer have a good enough rating to qualify.

I don't know about Babestation, but it certainly doesn't happen that way on Streamate. As KerrAvon explained above, on Streamate the credits are only ever billed when the gold show starts, which means that the 'tipper' leaving the stream is irrelevant. If the show doesn't take place he doesn't pay.
