A little known fact to everyone here.
I am a bit of an enthusiast in the sport of Curling.

Ever since Rhona Martin and her rink won Olympic gold for GB in 2002 I have been hooked.

Anyway Scotland have reached The European Championship final in both the mens and womens events this weekend.

Sweden will be the opponents in both finals.

The Scotland womens four will be skipped by Eve Muirhead.
The mens four by Bruce Mouat.

Coverage will be on BBC online and on Eurosport.

Scotland have beaten Sweden 7-4 to win the womens event. Congratulations to Eve Muirhead and her rink .

And the men are also European champs after beating Swedens men 8-5.

A golden double.

Eve Muirhead had decided to hang up her curling shoes and retire.
In the 15 years of competition Eve has won 21 international titles.

An absolute legend of her sport.
Congratulations to Eve on all her outstanding achievements.

Olympics was the only major championship left for her to win so it was not surprising that having achieved that she has decided to retire.

Will be interesting to see who will take over as the number one women's team in Scotland

Scotland's men led by the superb Bruce Mouat are European champions once again after a nail biting 5-4 victory over Switzerland in the final.

Bruce Mouat's rink are now into the semi finals of the World Championships in Ottawa, Canada.

They finished second in the round robin phase behind Switzerland to guarantee a spot in the last four.

It will be a Scotland v Canada final in Ottawa. The Scots led by the superb Bruce Mouat edged out Italy in an extra end 9-8.

Host nation Canada are ominously peaking at the right time however and saw off Switzerland 7-5 to reach the gold medal match.
