Think of the three Mens sprinters whio were eliminated I thinch Hinchclifffe did the best & I think he has a fantastic future. I believe he is mentored by Carl Lewis. I wonder just how much of a mentoring role Linford Christie has withing british sprinting.

Rutter was very unlucky I wonder if they had looked at hat second last shot more closely, I believe she had a fair and valid claim for a hit which woiuld have probably won her the gold when you see the close up.

Despite us only winning 1 gold in the pool I think there have been some creditable British swimming performances but do think a lot will depend now on how much of influence in the likes of Adam Peaty, Mark Foster & Rebecca Adlington can do in helping to bring through new talent for Los Angeles in four years time.

Well they led at various points and will be disappointed in the end not to win but it's still a BRONZE for GB.

About 20 years ago we had the expectations to win few medals. And we'd often return with just a handful of them.
Now thanks to the lottery funding we are competing in a great percentage of them. I see a GB competitor in a lot of the finals.

My main complaint is with the format of some sports. In particular the BMX racing and the Windsurfing.

In the case of BMX racing Beth Shriever completely dominated until the one off final race. All rounds preceding the final were contested over a number of races with points allocated for each finishing position.
Shriever had a perfect record in the multiple race format but came unstuck in a single race final. There is jeopardy in a single race format because the start is so critical.
If you are slightly off at the start everyone else can block you off and box you in leaving you nowhere to go.
That happened to Beth and she finished nowhere.

In the windsurfing the situation was even worse for poor Emma Wilson.
She too had dominated in the multi race format and did so well she effectively got a bye to the final meaning she did not have to compete in the semi final.
But that meant that certain marks on the course were different by the time of the final. Her two rivals for the Gold knew where those marks were because they were the same in the semi finals in which they completed and Wilson didn't. So the combination of that and the format played against her.

And just to go into full conspiracy theory, bitchfest mode it is rather too convenient that the photo finish was reviewed in the mixed relay triathlon to demote GB to Bronze yet no replays were used for Amber Rutter in her shoot off loss in the skeet shooting. Replays showed she clearly hit the second clay but it was deemed a miss with no right of appeal. She lost out on Gold because of that.
Then there is the boxing where at least two of the British boxers were deemed to have lost bouts that most believe they actually won. Questionable judging.
The Gymnastics judging has done GB over too imo.

Molly Caudery has failed to qualify for the pole vault final. Bit of a shocker that really.
All part of the learning curve though.

I would like to think the British IOC has a right to question many of the results and lodge an Official complaint/appeal on some df them.

Not to mention Ireland were treated like legends for coming back with 3 golds in a total of 4. Which they were all subsequently revoked of.
