Late Night w/Seth Meyers
Back from his break, but oddly only now screened at the weekend. He talked to Adam Levine about the Voice and the return of Maroon 5, and Martha Stewart about her latest cookery show. Then also to Tina Fey and Gabriel Luna about their new shows, and editor Graydon Carter about his memoir.

Inside Guggenheim
It's a big museum in Bilbao, designed by Frank Gehry. If you've seen Joe Lycett take James Acaster there on Travel Man, you've got the idea, and with more jokes.

8.9 The winner turns out to be somewhat homeless, borrowing a caravan and studio on a friend's farm so he can paint his commission. He gets a week in Holland to gen up on the Van de Veldes, a father & son duo who painted sea battles (something tricky to make contemporary). One of the judges visits him in Holland and acts surprised when told what the commission is. Anyway, the painting gets a good reception, as with every series.
LAotY 2023
8.10 A best of/round-up, presumably for people who missed any episode or just want to enjoy the journey again. Over watching these many series I have become cynical about editing and presentation. But nice paintings on the whole, can't say other.

1/4 From Arcachon thru Bordeaux, to Pont des Sables
HD is the more serious cyclist. The countryside looks pretty.

2/4 They check thru Agen, Moissac and finally Toulouse. Moissac gives a chance to hear the tale of how a lot of Jewish children were kept hidden safe during WW2, which gives Dave the chance to bring up how his mother narrowly avoided a fate worse than death at the time. In the next scene, at the local cathedral, Hugh brings up the Santiago da Compostela pilgrimage route, to which Dave goes "I've never heard of that".

Fellini on Fellini
Partly taken from surviving parts of an interview the Italian film director gave in 1981, and otherwise relating his career, how he got going, his triumphs and failures, his later work (his final film made when he was 70).

Political Thinking w/Receding Forehead Robinson : Joe Biden
The Dipstick from Delaware welcomes Robbo to Wilmington, so he can mutter and bumble through much of his usual drivel, take NR's cues, and repeat himself not too often. At least he didn't have a bloody ice cream this time.
