2 male skiers and a chick snowboarder spend the best part of a fortnight in an effort to climb the East Ridge of Mount Bertha in Alaska, so they can ski/snowboard down from the summit. The snowstorms and avalanches hold them up the most. But they accomplish their death-defying descent OK.

To Ecuador, as three white water kayakers plan to traverse 50+ miles of the Chalupas River. The tone is set when there's an unexpected blizzard on just Day 2, throwing them almost a week behind schedule. Then the terrain slows them up. Then it keeps raining. Then the bickering starts. Then the machete accidents begin. In the end, they make it halfway through, almost a month behind schedule, then pack it in.

The Secret Centre, with Nigel Williams
In 2000, the documentarian turned author spoke to John le Carre. Like Fred Forsyth, he was a spy & then wrote books about it. Like Kim Philby, his dad was a rascal. His real identity was used a lot. Again, I've read none of his books, though I have seen TTSS & Smiley's People.

Ali Plumb talks to Mr Cruise (and other cast, separately) about the last (?) film in the 30-odd year franchise, his commitment to stunts, sense of humour and so on. I've still seen none of the films.
Movies That Made Me - Tom Cruise
Ali Plumb chatted to him in 2017, and they discussed his films and his film-making experiences, though on more recent films than his older ones. He did also give a short tribute to some classic films he has time for, and why the choreography in musicals inspires his choreography in fight scenes.

Scene by Scene - Terence Stamp
Mark Cousins brought the then-living legend to Fortnum & Masons in 1998 to watch a few clips from his films. Mostly 60s stuff, and rare bits from European directors. His next film at the time would be The Phantom Menace, which he seemed hopeful for.
