Is this what yeah describing happening on both channel 911 an channel 965 ? excuse me if i get some things wrong as i only have freesat not sky. So certain things may be diffrent.

You seem to not understand how to operate a Sky box. If you want to tune to a channel you can just type in the number, or go to the EPG channel list.

Elite is FTA on 965 all the time. Just use the number keypad on your Sky remote and type the following:

965

The Sky box will then magically retune to channel 965 and lo and behold you will be watching Elite TV free to air.

But i'm not using a SKY digibox nowadays DD. I'm using a FTA satellite receiver and have just done a channel scan and Elite TV wasn't found. But it is found when i scan for all channels but it is locked out and can't be viewed. Show's up as Paul Raymond TV in the channels list.

Ah! Pity you didn't make that clear in the first place

Elite TV transmit on Paul Raymond during the day and as you've found out, it's protected by Videoguard. However, they are definitely FTA on their own frequency all the time.

They got their licence from a defunct film channel called 'Young@Heart', so the FTA ident might still be that. (It might also be the numerical ident 54330).

The best guide to FTA channels is http://www.lyngsat.com - they're all listed on that site. The babe channels broadcast on Eurobird 1 (see link below). if you scroll down you'll see the frequency info for Elite TV. It's 12643 V.

If you've done a full scan it should be available on your receiver already, but if not you may have to tune it in manually.

Elite is just transmitting a caption at the moment - it seems that they're having technical problems!

At the time of writing (2.10pm) they're showing the rotating Elite TV logo, so that should help you find it.

The trouble appears to be my reciever isn't detecting 12643 V 27500

I'm going to re-install the hardware / software and edit the channel list.

Does your FTA receiver offer anything more than your Sky box did? Mine doesn't so I just use it for Astra 19 and Hotbird 13 FTA channels. If you still have your old Sky box just use that it will be much easier with the EPG and obviously auto-update itself. There are a few sellers on eBay,if you don't have one,that sell reconditioned Digiboxes,I got one for £20 delivered a few months back to use in my parent's static caravan.I can't be without the 900 channels!
