So encrypted channels will be allowed to show porn?
Not quite:

YES this does mean R18 porn shows will be allowed under paid-for encryption. From September all Babe shows will be classified as non-stop adverts, rather than shows with program content, same as teleshopping and, er, psychic channels.
It's stupid, but Ofcom can't get their heads round shows with editorial content that do not earn money from short advertising breaks for kleenex, and instead have advrtising banners all the time for premium rate lines. It's a totally different category, but that would require original thinking from Ofcom.
Let's hope the way the rules are formulated does not prevent live shows.
And no, prostitution is not illegal. As a historian noted, even Stalin never managed that. It's just most ways it is sold is.

... but how do the rest of the babe channels fair? Did you say they couldn't show anything until midnight? Is that the new watershed?
Thanks
^^ What he said.
I'm sorry if the info is included in all that, GPP, but I think most of us want to know how (if at all) this is going to affect the fta babeshow output?
The content of the FTV and FTA channels will not be affected by the change in advertising policy by the ASA to allow pornography to be ONLY advertised on encrypted channels.
The adult chat channels are deemed advertising channels and have been in my opinion since 2004 when Ofcom selectively transferred that power to the ASA. The new advertising code now recognises these style of channels but requires them to be appropriately positioned and labelled within an “Adult” or similar section of an Electronic Programme Guide.
The content of FTV and FTA channels may still be subject to the broadcasting code after the 1st September.
It would appear that the new watershed for DTT Freeview channels is indeed midnight after the 1st September 2010. This is clearly stated in the new adverting code.

Yes that type of advertising I hate with a passion, the little forms of advertising such as the on screen graphics don't bother me. It's when they advertise full screen and in your face which annoys me, not to mention it totally takes you away from the girl you were watching. These Babestation Xtreme adverts they put on full screen countless times a night makes Babestation unbearable to watch at the moment.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was curious to what channels they were going to advertise on and I'm thankful it isn't the Babe Channels. I had a strong feeling It was channels such as TVX, Playboy, The Adult Channel, but at the same time I didn't immediately assume that because those channels already advertise porn that appears on their channels, so where's the change?

oh and prostetution or however u spell it is illegal dude.
Well speaking legally prostitution isn't actually illegal its the solicitation of sexual servercies which is!!!
Not to drift off topic, but I've walked past quite a few massage parlors in London, that say sauna etc, but are clearly brothels as well. I don't recall seeing these saunas in central London, as most of those places are just strip clubs, but I've seen saunas in Camden, Shoreditch and even drove past one near Euston Station. Are far as I can tell, those places are still in business, so obviously it's something that the government is overlooking, probably because they are making money off of it. The same can be said for strip clubs that aren't allowed to have women actually sit on your laps, because they don't have a license. For the license, you have to pay money to the government. It's all about money. Also, I know for a fact that there are escort services all around London, that haven't been shut down. All of this stuff except for the strip clubs is a form of prostitution. The sad truth, is that the reason street prostitution is illegal, is because the government can't make money off of it! There's also more of a risk for disease, I would think, than that of an escort agency. I find all forms of prostitution to be a bit morally wrong in general, but it doesn't bother me that escort services exist. Some people have it so bad in life, that they'll never find an attractive woman to be with them, so as long as they aren't bad people, I can't really judge them for wanting to pay for sex with a beautiful woman.
So midnight is the new watershed. OK, so can we now finally see full frontal please????
