RE: UFC
That's a pretty sweet card for UFC 121, Hamill v Tito i didn't see tht one coming that should be a good fight i also like Gonzaga v Schaub,
Sanchez v Thiago Selected picks:
Lesner. He made Carwin look silly.
Hamill. He's gettin better & Tito maybe following Chuck.
Schaub. Even fight but i think he's on the rise, this is a big test after only 1 loss (R. Nelson)
Thiago. He's mean & not like Sanchez's comedy yes! yes! yes!
Gonzaga v Schaub probs fight of the night?
A few people over here are not happy about the UFC 120 card as it's mostly English fighters & they wanna see some top US/international talent over here, this is what i was sayin when groundnpound was talking about the atmosphere it won't change untill we get used to seeing top level fighters on a regular basis, they're talking about having upto 6 fight night cards over here next year, which means smaller venues & lesser known fighters & that's not progression, now they have established a good fan base they are starting to take the piss. Yes it's hard to book big 10000+ arenas over here but they're still takin the piss. Like i said i like posting on here cause there is only a few people here but i wouldn't mind seeing more post's like this on some of the main mma sites to see the wider response (i aint been on them for a while so maybe it's been done?).
As for the fantasy card i'll get back to you on that one gnp.

RE: UFC
I got Silva, Hughes, Guida, JDS & Fitch for 117.
I was discussing this on another forum so onto Lesnar vs. Velasquez.
The thing is, Velasquez has never fought a wrestler on Lesnar's level. He was able to smother and torture Kongo and Rothwell, because they didn't have an answer for the wrestling. Lesnar will have an answer, so Velasquez may not necessarily subject Lesnar to the same suffering. Lesnar and Velasquez both have good gas tanks, so its going to be interesting to see who (if either does) tires first.
Velasquez is improving his striking, and is very fast. Lesnar is still very awkward in the stand-up, so it'll be interesting to see how Lesnar deals with Velasquez's speed. I can't say that I'll be shocked if Velasquez KOs/TKOs Lesnar, but I don't see it happening; Lesnar proved that he has a chin made of kryptonite in the fight against Carwin. Moreover, if Lesnar stuns Velasquez, he's going in for the kill; Kongo stunned Velasquez three times, but didn't have the skill set to finish and defend against Velasquez's grappling offense. Lesnar has the skill set, and will pound Velasquez's head through the canvas, if given the opportunity.
I'm going with Lesnar by submission, or technical knock out in the third round.

RE: UFC
Yeah i'd agree with that Cainan, but you say Velasquez is improving his striking, 6 TKO'S 1 KO in 8 wins says its pretty good already.
I thought the winner of Junior dos Santos v Roy Nelson would possess the biggest threat to Lesner, but the more i think about & look at Velasquez the more i see a big oppotunity.
Lesner is slightly bigger & heavier but both fighters are NCAA division 1 wrestlers (due to experience Lesner maybe better) Velasquez has some kickboxing to keep Lesner at bay & also a good T/KO record (although this didn't matter against Carwin) but as you say Cain has good fitness, at this point it looks pretty even, but Velasquez is a purple belt in Guerrilla jiu-jitsu, yet another self styled form of BBJ by Dave Camarillo, the reason i point this out is it incorporates Judo & BBJ as two separate styles & this may give Velazquez more reason to put closer pressure on Lesner knowing he can use the clinch to take Lesner to the ground, I think Lesner would rather have some distance between them so he can use his bull charge takedown stance, remember Carwin rocked Lesner pretty good & Cain could do the same & with good fitness he won't punch himself out like Carwin, so we may see Cain take the fight to Lesner knowing he can match Lesners wrestling & also has BBJ & Judo skills & this could make it interesting??? Cain will need to use these techniques & not just possess them like Frank Mir.
Having said all this watching Lesner so far especially the last fight it may be the case that he's another GSP, Silva or BJ Penn, but as we all know GSJ got beat & BJ is no longer champ (at least till the rematch?) if Lesner is gonna lose the belt it's gonna be one of his next two oppo's Velasquez or JdS/Nelson if not then baseball caps off the the freak. I just wanna see Lesner v Nelson.
Dave Camarillo: Guerilla Jiu-Jitsu
Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu is a groundbreaking system of grappling that integrates the Olympic sport of judo with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, today's most sought after grappling art. These are the techniques and strategies that allowed Camarillo to devastate the competition at some of the world's most prestigious judo and jiu-jitsu tournaments and have led his students to more than a dozen victories in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu offers a leg up on virtually every opponent who refuses to stray from the parameters of his discipline.
I hope this post make sense, it almost confused me thinking, writing & reading it back???
