RE: scottish footy
Scottish football is poor technically. Craig Levein said it best when he described it as a siege mentality of 'us against them' and this is represented on the pitch when you see 20 players all chasing the ball. At times it's like a school game when you see everyone just running after the ball, leaving huge gaps all over the pitch and having no tactical sense or awareness at all.
There have been a few occasions when teams have played to a higher technical level and punched above their weight, such as Hearts finishing 2nd in 05/06 and Motherwell finishing 3rd last season.
The league structure badly needs reviewing as we don't need 4 leagues in Scotland. And the split is a stupid idea - every season apart from last year the team finishing 7th have more points than the team finishing 6th.
On the same note, refereeing is appalling in Scotland too (something I thought would have been mentioned already). At one stage (pre 2000) we used to have some really good refs who were not afraid of making the big decisions and own up to any mistakes they made. Now we see big mistakes being made regularly by refs and there is no system in place to demote them to lower levels for a few weeks (as is the case with the FA).
On a final note, there is a huge gap not only in terms of league standards but footballing standards between SPL/SFL and our European counterparts. The Infirm would not last a season in the EPL!!! Besides wouldn't they have to start at the lower tiers in English football? Do you think Ibrox or Celtic Park would be full to capacity to watch games against Aldershot? Both teams might even struggle in the Championship as the quality of opposition they would face weekly would be far greater than anything ICT, Falkirk and Hamilton can offer.
TL;DR Scottish football poor

I'd like to see Scott Brown and Aiden McGeady in the premiership, they look like tidy players whenever I've seen them play..

He's a tough bastard too! Do you remember when that black player tried breaking his leg in the champions league a year or two ago? Dunno how he carried on playing!
