(26-10-2010 22:24 )mr mystery Wrote: Well "babestation" said "Square 1 management Limited" the licence holder of Partyland on freeview is not part of the Cellcast group , so Partyland is obviously a independent channel that just uses the BS girls , that's why the content is so different . To confuse things even more the owner of the Sky Partyland channel 909 is neither Cellcast or Square 1 management, a company called "Grandiose Limited" are the owner/licence holder of Partyland on Sky.
Maybe my assertion that "'Square 1 Management' is a member of the Cellcast group" and that "'Bluekiss' is a Cellcast brand name" was a bit rash. Nevertheless I don't think any rational mind could doubt that the two companies are inextricably linked in some way. There are umpteen possible reasons why two companies engaged in the same enterprise might be kept as separately constituted entities for administrational, legal or taxation purposes. The creation of 'Grandiose Limited' for Sky just emphasises the point.
The Babestation channels and Partyland are broadcast from the same studio, using the same sets and featuring the same girls. The sets and girls have been and continue to be swapped around at will between the channels. Each night there is just one team of girls who all move between channels as required. Sometimes the content from Partyland has been briefly featured on a Babestation channel or
vice versa.
So what "services" might Square 1 Management Limited be providing? The only possibility as far as I can see is access to a licensed Freeview channel.
Consider the following:-
Extracts from Ofcom Sanctions Committee Report 10/07/08:
"
Consideration of sanction against: Square 1 Management Limited (“the Licensee” or “Square 1”) in respect of its service
Smile TV (
“Smile TV” or “the Channel”).
“Smile TV” began transmitting in April 2007 (and since 12 July 2007 has operated under the name
Blue Kiss TV)."
This was in respect of a Sky channel but is relevant, read on.
Ofcom lists a Freeview service called
Smile TV:
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/tvlicensing/dtt/1367.htm (licensee
Square 1 Management Limited) but there is no Smile TV in the current Freeview EPG. This could well refer to
Bluekiss, which doesn't appear in the Ofcom list.
I've never seen any dispute about the Babestation channels being Cellcast products and they are shown in the Freeview EPG as
Smile TV 2 and
Smile TV 3. (There was a previous
Smile TV 2 licence which ran for 7 months from early September 2008 - somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this must have been the original Party Girls and I think Party People was listed as
Smile TV.)
The similarity of Cellcast and Square 1 Management Limited channel licence identities suggests there is more to this than simply two independent companies. The forum entity 'babestation', whoever he/she/they might be, has resisted commenting on the licensing situation on the baseless contention that it's none if our business, so I suspect this is a relationship that for one reason or another they don't want to discuss.
Sorry for yet another 'wall of text'.
