Annoying Football Clichés

What are you most hated saying's in football ?

You hear them all the time in pre/post match interviews, fans on the terraces, pundits and commentators.

What ones do you hate??

Ones that grip my shit are...

"Early Doors"

"At the end of the day"

"We've exhausted all avenues, now their streets ahead, I think we're going down the wrong path..." and so on...

"I love this club"

"Week in week out"

When someone says No disrespect to a certain club or player only to disrespect them with their next sentence

Commentators using the fucking word 'overcook'
does my bloody head in!

"Early Doors" is the worst by a long way (we have to blame Ron Atkinson for introducing that one ). Also, the well overused "giving 110%" is getting rather tedious now. Before long anyone who only gives 100% commitment will be dropped from his club's team for lack of effort!

"If he made that tackle on the street he would've got arrested!"

Yes, generally if you run full pace down the high street and fly in two footed at an old lady, you'll probably get arrested

"Six-pointer". Utter nonsense. Also, "And now for his insightful comments it's over to Jamie Redknapp." And "This is a massive club."

The abbreviated word for "Penalty". Why does everyone have to say "Pen". Is it all too difficult for them?

"This is our cup final" or "we have 10 cup finals from now to the end of the season"

it's a game of two halves. no shit!

"Shut up shop" - That's another that annoys me
