Haha aye he pulled up yesterday so Gabbys back in but Crouch and Rooney are confirmed to start tonight.

What do you think about Shearer getting the managers job at Newcastle? Looks a bit risky to me. He's turned down so many previous opportunities to be Newcastle manager, but now he decides to take over when they are 8 games away from relegation and have a chairman who clearly isn't prepared to spend any real money!

Strange... but then it is Newcastle!

And it nearly all went wrong because of someone with an almost identical record to michael owen and who has played even less football than him in recent months.

I was going to come on and start slating ashley cole but a) he looked like he'd got flu to me and b) the bloke like the other three defenders is driven to distraction by david james they are going to extraordinary lengths to avoid passing back to him, they don't know whether he is coming or going for any ball that comes between them - Johnson who actually plays with him week in week out was the worst! I reckon he has sleepless nights having to defend in front of him. We need another goalkeeper now. Let's all hope portsmouth get relegated cos there's no way capello can justify keeping him then and no other premiership side is stupid enough to pay for that clown.

And I owe aaron lennon an apology because the strikers should be ashamed that they didn't finish off two of his first half crosses and he should never have been taken off.

Newcastle - Shearer can't lose can he, stay up and his reputation is enhanced, go down and it's not his fault plus he'll still be there next season, have a clear out and run away with the championship.

With you on the Lennon substitution. To prove how wrong it was Capello brought on Wright-Philips when it started to go tits up! The midfield spent most of the match on the left leaving Lennon with little time on the ball although he did well with almost every ball he was given. This used to happen at Spurs until Harry came along.
Don't you find that if Rooney plays a 110%er the likes of Gerard,Lampard and whoever else have quiet games in the middle of the park? It seems there can only be one star player in that part of the pitch per game.If we got the whole midfield to perform at the same time we would tear teams apart and even if you put Ray Charles up front it wouldn't matter! We all know how many goals the midfield of every Premiership team gets at the moment. It would give the rest of the world something to think about for a change!

newcastle was going quite swimmingly until souness was appointed they were alls in the top ten untill he was assign as manager but the current problem has been because of the pure incompenance of mike ashley he screws up the management structure which in effect made keagan leave which gave him is other misdominor the inability to find a suitable replacement when he left which has caused this relegation issue.

I despise Maradona as much as anybody (probably more to be honest) he should have been banned for life for the hand, the game should have been awarded to England and Argentina banned from the next tournament. Argentina getting beaten 6-1 is hilarious but they'll still qualify because maradona will walk or get sacked and in a way it's better that they do cos otherwise we won't get the chance to turn them over for another four years - you just know the draw will bring us together in the quarter finals. If we were to win it without a couple of the big teams there eg argentina and portugal (who are also struggling - denmark look to be running away with the group and sweden have games in hand) or France - who aren't having it all their own way and could end up in the play-offs, then the scots, welsh and irish would say we only won it because there was no one to beat.

Big Grin Sorry i couldnt let this one go.....
Thats a tad OTT isnt it? Saying Maradonna should've been banned for life for a handball???????
What next ??John Terry banned for life for being offside when he scored the winner last night, I can see the headline now
England banned from World Cup .... JT was offside!!!!! Tongue

btw i do realise that JT may not have been offside last night but was just using that as a far fetched example!
