Films To Watch - Recommendations
To anyone who cares, here is a list i will do of the 50 greatest films(according to me anyway) that need to be watched,so here is number 50
Yup,The Evil Dead,Sam Raimi's busker budget comedy horror classic that made a B movie star out of Bruce Campbell, still great to watch today, some folk might not be impressed with how low budget it looks and there is no CGI whatsoever, but there are some stop motion effects, worth seeing,it has gore, laughs and a woman getting raped by a tree,it had 2 sequels which are Evil Dead 2 and Army Of Darkness, also very good films, but not good enough for the list,i'm sure horror buffs have seen this, and those who haven't,i highly recommend

Saving Private Ryan, pretty low down on the list but i am not really into war films so much, but this one is a belter, directed by the legend that is Steven Spielberg, this is about a platoon of soldiers going through nazi occupied France trying to find Private Ryan, they need to save him ,very good war action films,Tom Hanks is great in it,he has come a long way since his dopey comedies from the 80s,there are some other decent war films but this one is tops for me,but not top of the list, the opening 20-25 mins of the D Day Landings is one of the greatest scenes in a film, epic

Judgment Night
Unbelievably underrated film, this is a tension filled action thriller and worth repeat viewings,it is about 4 friends going to a boxing match, driving in their big camper van they decide to take a shortcut away from a traffic jam and end up in a rough neighbourhood, they witness a murder and the mobsters responsible want no witnesses,so begins a cat and mouse chase through the streets, rooftop, sewers(excellent scene),and in a shopping centre, bad night for those 4 friends, recommended with authority

13:Game Of Death, excellent thriller from Thailand,a big asian cinema buff and this one is a must see,a young man loses his job and gf on the same day,but a mystery phone call soon has him playing in an internet reality show where he does tasks to win money, simple ones at first like kill a fly,but as it progresses, the tasks get a bit more mental and dangerous, very entertaining, and a shock ending

Robocop, ultra violent sci fi action film directed by Paul Verhoeven, who also directed Total Recall,Starship Troopers and, erm,Showgirls, but he directed this great film,a cop is gunned down by a criminal gang but through space age technology he is brought back to life in a cyborg suit and ready to take down the gang, fun film, violent as Hell, sadly the sequels are inferior

The Dead
Little known zombie film, but a very good one,i will have 2 more zombie films in my list, one that is obscure and one that is a classic, this one here is set in Africa, and it was actually all shot on location in Ghana,it is about an american soldier that teams up with an african soldier and they just need to survive the zombie plague in the african plains and try and get home, the best thing about this is it is the classic walking zombies and not ones that run plus the cinematography is great to watch, seeing the Ghaninian landscape and the image of loads of zombies wandering about it,highly recommended, mainly for horror and zombie fans
