I'm back... Spent a fair bit of time last night catching up on things mainly by looking at all the posts in the original thread! It took a while.
Made interesting reading, the early ideas were all along the lines of: What the hell is this new channel playing at? What are they doing? Don't give it long at this rate! Hold up, who's this blonde? Nope, she's gone again. Give it till Christmas and it will fold. Hang on, the blonde's back. Maybe things are looking up.
And it all went on from there.
I hope for a better future for the channel but I'm not convinced, April can't be on every single night, if she goes elsewhere then that's where the viewers (and call/text/other revenue) will go too. Looped videos aren't going to attract callers either. I wonder if the people behind it have taken much notice of the suggestions made on here and at howcute? Testing the water is one thing but you can only do it for so long without some proper investment or it's money down the drain.
Anyway, how is everyone?
They are actively reading this forum as they went as fixed the cameras last night to prove the point
, I can't see much changing this side of Christmas. Things are slowly picking up for the better though, from my viewpoint its all about the money they have to pump back into the channel and dipping your toe into the big pond that form this channel space is risky business. They will have to make a big push sooner or later to keep the momentum up.
Can't rely on the April Effect to fuel the Channel Interest forever either as thats Unfair to the lady in question and too much pressure on her shoulders.
They have niche in the channel space and have the girls to hold the fort and they are sitting on the goldmine that is the internet, they just need to embrace it in one huge marketing push. The resources are there and freely avalible i.e social networks, places like deviantART which are social media galleries where the Girls could have gallery(s) of freebie pictures for the fanboys you can even sell prints and other related 960 stuff on there, places like youtube and dailymotion for video clips and collecting fan made clips that have started to appear plus a short promotional video podcast once a month/fornight/week with one or two of the girls fronting it that can go out through iTunes and other podcast directories. A Press Release and Newsletter have been the other things in my minds eye.
Anyway as SuperSpurs has said they have taking input onboard and just have get over budget problems and see if they want to continue down this avenue.
Regardless I wish April, Amy, Roxy, Kylie and the others and all the production people all the best in this and any future venture...
